What's Happening In 2017?

Just like other years before this, 2017 passed through as swiftly. A lot of things, good and bad takes place in my life in 2017. I wish I would have jotted down every bit of it here but unfortunately I juz couldnt find the time to do it. So, I juz hope that all those memories would stay inside my head for as long as they would - if not all at least some of the good ones, perhaps.

When you've just moved to a new year, you tend to rewind all the things that has been happening for the past one year and I dont know about you guys, but for me only the good memories seems to surface. Well that's me. When you have too many bad memories in your life, you dont have a choice but to just block those unpleasant ones from entering your mind and spoiled the not-so-many good moments you had.

If people were to ask me whats the best thing that happen to me in 2017, it would be no other than my decision to walk away from my destructive relationship. I would like to say that I've wasted 3 years of my time but let's draw some positiveness from it. Some people come into our life as blessings and some as lessons. In his case, I would say both - blessings for all the good moments we had and lessons for the hard times he gave me hahahaha. Whatever it is I am glad it's all over, though I do miss him from time to time.

The next best thing would be watching the SEA Games football semi-final match between Malaysia and Indonesia. It was a hell of an experience. Never in my life I felt so proud to be a Malaysian. The ambiance in the stadium that night is something I wont be able to forget. The cheering and singing from the supporters, the oohhhhs and the ahhhssss when we missed the goal or saved the ball and the best is of course the Ultras Malaya who was supporting the national team throughout the game with their energetic chanting and singing. They are superbly awesome ! They are like the heart of the stadium and the stadium was kept alive by their cheering.

Then it was the Mahsuri Adventure Ride convoy in September. There are a few things significant about this ride actually. Firstly, it was the first Vespa ride I joined after 3 years being dormant. Secondly, it was the first time I joined a convoy which started at 12.00 midnight - meaning no sleeping at all throughout the journey. And thirdly, met with an accident on my way back from Langkawi which ended up with a broken ankle and was on crutches for 2 months !

I almost forgotten one important event which took place this year - it was the Jornam re-union party. Jornam is the name of our gang way back in secondary school. We have been planning a meet-up since the last re-union 3 years ago but it's just too hard to find a date where everybody is available. Even for this time, Has was not able to join since she has to be in KB that week. It was an overnight event filled with good food and abundance of laughter and fun. We really had a good time catching up with each other while reminiscing our past memories.

Though Marsya and me went to Bali early this year but I dont really treat it as "the best thing" since I dont really enjoyed it. In fact, it was so bad that it kills all of my travelling desires thereafter hahahaha. Dont misunderstood - Bali is not that bad. It's just me who has problems being in a car for long hours - other than that Bali is as beautiful as one can imagine !

So there you go ..... the highlights of events & happenings in 2017. Let's just remember the good ones and put aside the bad ones as a reminder that life is not always rainbows and butterflies.

Me & Blogging

Is blogging really dead? More or less I do think it's true. With the fast growing social media platforms who needs a blog anymore? Need to make an announcement or to share important infos? You have Facebook and Twitter. Within hours, half of the globe would have read it already. Wanna share what's going on with your life today? Just go live telecast via Instagram or Facebook or even Whatsapp.

But as much as irrelevant a blog is these days, I still have that sentimental feelings towards it. Maybe because I was once an avid blogger.  I still remember how I was always looking forward to publish my post everyday. Always thinking what to write or bitch about. Carrying my camera (handphones doesnt comes with camera yet those days) everywhere I go fearing that I might not be able to capture important pictures to be shared among my readers.

Blogging has indeed makes my life very interesting then. It gives me a reason to look forward to another day. It also gives me the opportunity to connect with people. I have touched a lot of people's life through my postings. People who thanked me for giving them inspiration. People who are thankful for the tips I shared. And people who are just enjoying themselves reading my silly ramblings.

Sadly, nothing stays forever. I dont know exactly what happen but I slowly drifted away from the blogsphere. I have made several attempts to be back but none succeeded. I will post one or two postings and that's about it. I just couldnt keep the momentum going. The drive is no longer there & the desire of writing completely died. Sigh.

Nevertheless, I really love this blog of mine. Once in a while I will randomly read the postings and cant help but to admire my writings hahahaha. Due to lack of practice, I dont think I could write as good as before. I would end up being the most boring blogger if I were to start a blog now. Reading all my old postings would certainly leave a smile on my face - especially those ravaging men-bashing posts ! Boy, I had fun reading them !

As for now, I am just gonna continue reading my old posts. Once in a while when I feel like rambling my thoughts about something then I will do so. Till then, lets just keep it as it is. Red Scoot is indeed still on the move....just not as publicly as before.

Keeping A Promise

A promise, as defined by Merriam-Webster Dictionary, is: "a declaration that one will do or refrain from doing something specified; or a legally binding declaration that gives the person to whom it is made a right to expect or to claim the performance or forbearance of a specified act."

Promise is a norm in anybody's live. We make promises every other day - to our parents, friends and even a promise to our own selves. There is nothing so immense about making promises.... it's keeping them that makes it huge. Anybody can make promises but it takes a real man to keep it !

A lot of us are quite casual at making promises which ends up promises being made with no real intention of keeping them. "Let's meet up," "I'll call you later," "I'll be there in 10 minutes"  are some examples of a throwaway promises we heard everyday but seldom they are kept. It looked small but this casual attitude can end up with real consequences.

Some people apply a rating scale to promises. Breaking a big promises is a definitely a no-no while the small ones are acceptable. A promise is a promise - they don't come in sizes. Brains do but not promises !

When promises are broken, no matter how small it may seem to you, the world wouldn't collapse but it can surely damage a relationship or your reputation. When somebody asked you to promise them something, there must be a reason why you were chosen in the first place. Think about it.....if you break the promise made to her, it will definitely makes her feel cheated and violated. She will be wondering whether she was wrong to ever trusted you coz you have clearly let her down, be it intentionally or unintentionally.

So please understand the important of keeping a promise. It is not "just a promise" but it heavily involves one's personal integrity and relationship with that someone we have made the promise to.

Don't respect someone for making a promise, respect them for keeping it.

Kuih Raya Charity Project

This is the 3rd year General Electric (GE) is conducting a kuih raya charity sale among the employee. And for the 3rd consecutive year, I was one of the volunteer. Since this year is not a bz year for us, me and Ija agreed to manage the kuih raya, from selecting the supplier up to distributing them off.

Being an artsy person that I am, I volunteered to design the posters - one for the sales of the cookies and the other one for the buka puasa event with the orphanage.

So, this is the first poster

And this is the other one.......cantik kannnnnnn !

After doing aggressive sales for a week (which includes forcing my fellow non-muslim office mates to buy the cookies ) we manage to sell jars of cookies with an overall sales of RM 9,032.00 .....yippie ! The net profit obtained was RM 1,496.00 which will be donated to the Rumah Nur Sakinah Orphanage.

Honestly, managing 300+ of orders ain't easy at all. Last minute of order change, people wanting to change cookies, additional order request, QC issues etc. Nevertheless, I am more than glad to be part of it. Apart from the experience, it makes me feel good that I have contributed something back.

We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give. Do good...and good will come to you.

Facelift

No.....dont go !!! This is indeed the correct blog. It's just.....different. A bit slicker. A bit refined. Dont you just love this new look? I hate to admit but the old RSOTM looks a bit too girly and childish, dont you think so? Those flowers, blinkies, cartoons and animations are just a bit too much. We need to look professional in order to be treated like one and this new template definitely portrays that. Yesss !
.
.
.
.
.
.
Ok, stop ! Cut the crap !

The fact is that I love my old template so very much I feel like crying already. The flowers, the blinkies, the animations....those are the lifelines to my blog. They made the blog looked so cheerful and fun. Who cares about looking professional....they are just so boring. I love to see those colourful widgets that decorate my blog.....the animated marquee which welcomes my readers....those daisy buttons....uwaaaa i miss them already.

Here's what happen. Last night when I logged in to my blog, they looked so messed up which was entirely my mistake for deserting it. Images  went missing, widgets malfunctioning, labels gone haywire and a few more glitches here and there. So, today I thought of tidying things up in here, so that it wont looked that pathetic anymore, but little that I know this noble intention would end up in disaster.

Apparently, after a few years I have forgotten a lot of things about maintaining a blog. Things like HTML scripts, CSS and widgets were all so familiar, yet so alien to me. Nevertheless, I started deleting all unnecessary widgets without realizing that I have accidentally deleted the blog background.....yes that beautiful stripes background.

If I had stopped and think for just 30 seconds, then I would still be looking at my chirpy, beautiful template. I've spent the whole day trying to resuscitate my old template but to no avail. What's done can no longer be undone, the milk has spilled and no points crying over it. Only thing I can do now is to just being positive about it.  At least I didnt lose the whole blog kan......

Same blog, same content......new look and of course, new hope.

My Come-Back Post

I was already on bed, tucked under my worn-out blankie getting ready to travel to the other world when all of a sudden i decided to open up my FB. I was sleepy n it was already past midnite and yet i have to flip open the Ipad cover....what else do you call this if its not jodoh rite ? LOL

You know Facebook will everyday send us notifications on memories we had on that particular day - stuffs we posted on our walls, be it the food we had, places we've been to or a mere pathetic attention-seeking status. In my case, it was my blog post sharing in 2010 which appeared in one of my memories today....

I know i have been neglecting my beloved ( i feel a pang of shame saying this, honestly) blog for a long, long time. While reading that particular post (which appeared to be quite a good one...ehemm ) all those love and passionate feelings suddenly swelled in me which makes me miss blogging so much.

I was once an avid blogger n i really loved blogging so very much. At that point of time it never occurred to me that i would someday stop from blogging considering how passionate i was. Kita hanya merancang kan.....I cant remember what actually happened but I would like to find an easy way out by putting the entire blame on FB....aci tak ? And speaking of this i salute my bff, Ain who still updates her blog ( http://classychattychic.blogspot.my/ ) regularly...hats off to you dear !

So, being an OCD ( i think i am gonna write about this someday ), i just cant wait not a minute longer. I really have to write something tonite. It may not be something important but i need to do it in order to fulfill that intense desire this very moment.

I remembered downloading the blogger apps few years back as an attempt to blog again (which i failed miserably) but unfortunately that apps has no longer exist ....sigh. Since i am very much fired up with this blogging thingy at the mo, i end up buying the BlogPress apps for USD $2.99 (i hope its worth it). See how bersemangat i was ? I just hope the flame wont die as fast as i decided to buy the apps .....ameen...ameen.

I think this is good enuff to be my come-back post after my long, long rest....ok lah kan for a start? Who would have guessed Red Scoot On The Move being updated tonite at 1.30 am? Neither do i.....hahahaha.

Itulah...kalau dah jodoh tak ke mana ye tak ?

p/s  Those grammatical errors....well, blame it on my English teacher who has migrated to Kiwi Land ( i hope she's reading this, else i need to tag her in FB ).

FMFA 2014 X Dr. Martens Boot-Away Competition

Dr. Martens Airwair Malaysia is having the 'Boot-Away' Instagram competition where contestants shall upload their creative photos on Instagram, adding caption that answers:  WHAT DO YOU STAND FOR IN FMFA 2014 ? Easy kan? And the best part is they are giving away 26 pairs of Dr. Martens !!!

When I discovered about this competition, it was just a day before the closing date, phew…. and I havewas so determined to win a pair of Dr. Marts. The next thing I should be doing is getting my picture taken and it has to be with Red Riant in it. Dr. Martens alone is cool but with a Vespa, it’s gonna be even cooler !

So that very evening after work, I’ve engaged my personal photographer, Marsya to help me captured the best pic of me with my Dr. Martens and Vespa…..fefeeling model gitu, chewahhh ! Though it’s not an easy job to get the best shot (considering the amateur photographer, although the model is somewhat professional  LOLS ), but we manage it through somehow.

So going through all the pics taken I have shortlisted 2 and using all the available apps in my Ipad, I started editing those pics to perfections. I was unsure as to which pics I should be using for the competition, so I decided to get some opinions from my colleague friends.

I was about to upload the selected pic when I noticed the closing time which is 12 pm. I froze for a few seconds and my face turns pale. It was already 1.00 pm at that time, for God’s sake. I dunno what happen but I was positively sure that the closing time is 12 midnight. I mean, my eyes did see the time as 12 pm but when it gets to my brain, it got translated as 12 midnite…….uwaaaaaaa !!!!

There’s nobody else but me that gotta be blamed here. If only I’d be more observant or maybe, focused then I won’t be this disappointed and upset. I then checked out other photos uploaded for the competition hoping that those pics are far more better – at least it would makes me feel better, right.

Well looks like things get even worse – the pics uploaded are more or less are at the same par with mine with some even worse. I felt terrible then…there is a chance of me winning a pair of Dr. Marts if and only if……uwaaaaaaa.

Seeing me so stressed up like that, my friends then were asking me to go ahead and upload my pic even though it’s already due. Just upload and who  knows, they might like the pic and decided to extend the closing time. Miracles do happen sometimes……

So, that was exactly what I did – and this was the said pic.  :

I STAND FOR THE AWESOMENESS OF VESPA

P/S Just for the record, I didnt win thic competition...macam frust la jugak sebab perasan gambor ni macam happening sangat kan...anyway, I strongly believe that I didnt win coz I uploaded my pic after the competition has already closed. I might have won if it's otherwise #memangakuperasan

Looking Forward

I was with Red Riant ( my beloved Vespa ) enjoying the cool Monday breeze when suddenly I noticed that I got a handful of things I looked forward to for the next 2 months or so. I should be counting my blessing twice and not just once since 2013 is only 21 days old and yet life has been so awesome ! Syukran !

Let's start from the very beginning which is this week itself. Another long weekend awaited for me by end of this week.....aint that something everybody would look forward to? Anything which doesnt require me to work is considered as a blessing even though if it's just a few hours of  break due to electricity black-off. With so much pain & sorrow in the world today, these little thing counts - beggars better not be a choosers, ok. I will be taking a day off on Friday which gives me a total of 5 days leave altogether woooo hooooo !!!

I've been waiting for February to arrive from the very beginning of 2013 actually. Apparently, I have been promised luxurious gifts by end of Jan or latest by mid of Feb. As much as how fairy tale-ish it has been, I can't help but to wonder as to how this interesting "game" is gonna end. As for now, things are pretty much hazy still that I am not in the position to blog about it just yet. So, lets just hope it will end very-very soon for I neither have the patience nor the energy to keep on playing.

Errmmm....what else is happening in February? Oh yes the Chinese New Year. No I am not celebrating my half clan's festival.....but I am still looking forward to it coz I have an excellent plan to celebrate it. Me and a few of my ex-classmates from school are planning for a re-union on CNY. The last time all of us sit together was a few years ago...so, obviously we really have a lot to catch-up.

So, what else? My birthday of coz. And that's why this second month of the year has always been my favourite month. Though at this age, it's just gonna be another day for me but I would still love to at least sit down and think of all the good things I've encountered during those years I've lived whilst being grateful to be given yet another year to cherish.

Last but not least, is no other than the 3-Hills Ride for my Vespa group in early March. Though this is already my 5th ride so far, but the excitement and anticipation is never lesser. I've been looking forward to it the moment they make an announcement about this ride a few weeks ago. Just thinking about it could give me multiple orgasms already hahaha !!!

And now I am just going to live my life the way I planned it. May Allah give His blessings and that everything will turn out perfect. Amin.

A Comeback? Nahhhhh !!!

I post a short write-up about lonely vs being alone on my Facebook wall earlier, which reads like this :

A lot of time people got confused between being alone & being lonely. Often they asked me whether I'm lonely just because I opt to be single. I'm alone quite frequently and I don't feel lonely in the least. I enjoy being in the company of others, but have no problem with being by myself for I have learned to become my own best company.

Being alone doesnt mean you are lonely. In fact, you can be in a room full with people but you can still feel the emptiness in you.
Everybody has choices and you are what you choose to be !

So, what's with the status then ? Any stories behind it? Indeed there is but dont get too excited as it aint juicy at all. An old fren of mine text me asking of my wellbeing which is so thoughtful of him. He then was wondering why I am still single n starts asking me questions about being lonely and all.

You see, this is something men failed to understand. As it is, the biology of a man and a woman are never the same ( and thank God for that ). But men being the not-so-smart creatures are always forgetting this very basic fact that they thought we, women are exactly like them.

Guys, here me out. Women might look fragile but we are indeed the stronger ones. We don't have problems being on our own. Just becoz sex is like food for you guys, doesn't mean women would die starving without it. We are not what you think we are......we are much better than that --> we are  not men, we are W.O.M.E.N. Period.

Actually come to think of it, i cant blame the men completely. Being single seems to have a number of negative perspective in our society. For example, when you watch a film you’re supposed to feel sorry for the single, lonely girl who desperately wants to be loved. This is definitely the wrong message being sent to the people out there. There is nothing to be sad of by being single coz being single doesnt always mean lonely.

I love having the freedom to live my life my very own way, without having to consider one's feelings or opinions. Well, I may not have a guy to spend my time with but I do have plenty of friends to go out with and my daughter to keep me company. The best thing of being single is that I don't have to please anyone other than myself - a luxury not everybody gets.

Ok I admit that sometimes I do feel missed out especially on festive occasions such as Hari Raya when I have to visit relatives on my own, or on Marsya's school events when other kids have both of their parents present but not hers. But thinking of the hard work, the pain, the tears in building and sustaining a relationship, I'd easily give it a pass. It's just not worth it - well, at least for me.

So to all single women out there, you don't need to feel lonely living the single life as there is more to living than just to get married. Even if that special someone never arrives, just enjoy every moment of your single life offers.

It is easy in the world to live after the world's opinions, it is easy in solitude to live after your own, but the great main is he who in the midst of the crowd keeps with perfect sweetness the independence of solitude

27 September 2012

Hello !

Hello, I am back.....and this time no more sweet promises from me. I am neither not gonna say I'm back for good nor am I gonna continue updating my blog religiously like I used to - coz I am positively sure none of those gonna happen.

Honestly I miss my blog so very much. I miss scribbling my thoughts about things I love and hate. I miss sharing my shopping addiction with my fellow readers. And above all of course, I miss all the men-bashing sessions I used to have in here.

I really wish things could stay the same but obviously that would never happen. Nothing stays the same - sooner or later some things, if not everything is bound to change.

I used to have enuff time to spend on my blog. But that was then. That was before I commit myself to the society I am living with. I am not complaining for I know it's all for a good cause. After so much I've gotten, I guess it's high time to give back. And frankly, I am grateful I had the chance to do that.

Anyway, ideally with an IPad in my possession, updating my blog shouldnt be that much of a hassles anymore. But still, time is something very, very valuable and priceless to me these days. Though I do have everything it takes to write a post, I am still lacking the most important thing which is time - so many things to do yet too little time..sigh !
Sometimes I really have a very good n interesting story to write but by the time I am free, it was neither good nor interesting anymore. I got tired and lazy and the only thing I wanna do is to sit down doing completely nothing. I am not sure whether this is what they called the aging process or I am simply being lazy ( the latter sounds more like it tho ! )

By the way, this post was written on my bed a few minutes before I dozed off. I just feel like writing and this post has definitely makes me feel good thereafter. The fact is I have plenty of things I wanna write about like my new love of my life, my trip to Penang (which is not just any other trip), my dreams, my hatred - though this one is quite common hehehe. I so wanna share all these stories with you guys and therefore I would try my very best to find the time to do it.

Perhaps I should stop my quick naps in the office & use that time to write. Or maybe write while having my packed lunch in the office. Or I should just write whenever I dont feel like doing my work ( which practically every f***in day hahaha). Whatever it is, the bottom line is that -  I WILL FIND TIME TO UPDATE THIS BLOG.

Having to said that, adios from me. Till we meet again, Insyallah.

04 May 2012

Muahhhhhhhh !!!!!

The above kiss is for no other than my company / management for giving their employee another long weekend this week. For the first time ever we are getting a replacement holiday for a public holiday that falls on Saturday. Tomorrow is the public holiday for Wesak & for that, we are getting next Monday off.....yeeeeee haaaaaaaa !!!

As I mentioned before, our company has just been acquired by General Electric about a year ago & we are still in the midst of adapting to the new rules & regulations. I dont wanna put my hopes too high up but at the same time I cant help myself but to wish that this is the regular practice in GE whereby the employees shall get a replacement holiday for any public holidays that falls on Saturday.

But even if it's not, I am still grateful for I dont have to work next Monday when most people would. And with Monday being an off day, it means that I have 2 solid days for my next movie marathon - as Astro's free channels will end this Sunday ( damn...I sounded so cheap !! ). Had a really hectic week & I deserve this long break.

So, have a great weekend ahead peeps & for those who are working next Monday - you can start envying me already !!!

02 May 2012

Thank You Astro !

Astro Malaysia was recently voted as the Most Popular Brand at the Putra Brand Awards 2012. And as a gesture of thanks and appreciation, Astro is broadcasting 130 channels free for all subscribers - for a week, starting from 27th April till 6th May 2012 !

Thank you Astro - though the vote didnt come from me( and honestly, I dont even know the existence of that Putra Brand Awards).

Like they said, good opportunity like this only comes once and that we shouldnt let it passed without grabbing it. Since my parents were in town on the 27th till the 29th, I cant do much on those days to really appreciate the "gift" I got from Astro.

Starting from the 30th morning till the next 1st May morning, there I was lying on my sofa watching as many movies as these eyes could take it. By the end of the day, I managed to make a marathon of 5 movies whcih is my very own personal record.

As I told Marsya, never before in my 42 years of age, I've watched that much of movies in a day. By the time I am done with the fifth movies, I feel like throwing up - seriously. It was an absolutely a movie over-dose for me.....buwekkkkk !!!

These were the movies that I watched :
a)   Just Go With It   :  A story about friends turned into lovers - sweet story, I must say
b)  The Last Three Days  :  Suspense to the core till I feel my heart like bursting out !
c)   Narnia 3  :  Too fairy tale-ish for me - dozed off a couple of time through out the movie
d)   No Strings Attached  :  Yucks ! stupid...stupid....stooooopid story !
e)   Killer  :  So-so lahhh.....

One thing I realized after watching two Ashton Kutcher's movies back to back is that - he's really a hawt, hawt hottie ! Look, I dont really watch TV, ok....so how would I know this Kutcher boy is actually that hot? He's so tall & has the sweetest smile ever <3 <3 <3  .

Now I understand why Demi has to go under the knife to be with him.......poor Demi !!

Suck-Ups

Something amazing happened in my office this morning & I just feel like sharing it here in my blog.

I was doing my work when one of the manager in the office came to me to discuss on a project I am currently working on. So, there we were taking and discussing intensely on the subject when the boss's secretary came and told the manager that the big boss is already in.

At that moment itself, in the middle of our "intense discussion", he turned & walked towards the boss's room. It was as if he's being hypnotized whereby he just turn away from me & walked away - without saying even a single word to me who is apparently still talking to him. No "sorry"...no "excuse me"....no nothing at all ....and all i know, I've probably become the first Invisible Woman in the region !

Amazing isnt, it?

Sucking up in the work place is normal....in fact, very normal. There are at least one employee in every office who sucks up to the boss. In fact, chances are there are a lot more than one. One who constantly hurls flatteries at superiors or laugh a little too much at their so-called jokes. Or maybe one who brings in chocolates for the managers or offers to grab them a coffee from time to time. Or the type of employee who simply stays back in the office just to impress the boss ( though all he's doing is browsing the net !! )

These Suck-Ups....well, everybody knows them. Love them or hate them, the Suck Ups sure know how to get what they want by knowing just the right things to say and a whole lot of brown-nosing. To get what they want, they don’t care who they have to lay on all the false flattery to..as long as they get what they want in the end.

Honestly, I dont really care about these group of people. If you have the quality of being one, go ahead and lick up those ass till it shines. But please have some dignity on yourself - do it in the subtly manner and know just the right amount to flatter without coming across as being too fake. Dont make it so transparent that everyone can see right through you and make them lose their respect on you.

The best thing is still to work you ass out. Work and work smart, efficiently and for the good of your organization. That’s the best way to get ahead and feel good about yourself at the same time.

English With An Accent

As compared to other Asian countries (Singapore excluded), Malaysians should be grateful as the majority of us can speak English very well. Some of the pakcik & makcik can even speak this international language though it wont be that perfect but good enough to converse & relay the messages to others.

If you go to other Asian countries like Japan, Korea, Taiwan or Thailand, you'll be facing hard time communicating with them. Majority of the people there doesnt know a single word of English - even their youngsters too - let alone the pakcik & makcik.

What I'm gonna blog today is not about how well Malaysians speaks English but more on how they speak the language. If you noticed, there are two types of English-speaking community in our country :

1)    The genuine ones
2)    The wannabes

Ok, lets start with the first ones - the genuine group. This group belongs to the people who were born & breed abroad where everybody around them speaks with an accent. English with Mat Salleh accent is usually acquired after years of living in a Mat Salleh's country. It's quite natural to adopt an accent after being exposed to another culture for a certain period of time - it's a form of adaptation, I would call it.

Some of these people dont even leave the country but the people around them speaks that way. Their dad / mum is an expatriate for instant. Or they went to an international school where all their friends speaks with an accent.

But if you've been living in Malaysia for 20 years then went to Britain for a year & came back speaking like Brit. 5 years or more is okay but 1 year? And to make it worse, they act as if they were born English as well, which basically means emulating the English personality / lifestyle. I don't mind if they emulate the good, beneficial aspects of the English culture though but please dont be a wannabe. No matter how interested you are in a culture, it takes several years (obviously more than a year) to move from one refined accent to the other.

I have an acquaintance who speaks in deep Mat Salleh accent - though she has never been more than 7 days to any Mat Salleh countries and sure enough, she's adapting the Mat Salleh's lifestyle as well. Okay, she's been working with an International company for years but so did I. The only thing I am lacking is a Mat Salleh boyfriend like her (unfortunately my "asset" is not abundance enough to attract one). She's now married to her boyfie & her accents gets thicker by the days - which I believe was greatly assisted by the "fluids transfer" between them hahaha.

A lot of us really cant stand her accent coz they sounded so made up & fake. There's one time where a non-Malay speaks Bahasa Melayu with her & she still responded in English (with pride) which really confused us. It's not that she cant speak Malay - she can even speaks Malay with the local dialects for God's sake. It's just that speaking English with the Mat Salleh accent makes her feel that she's one level up in the local social hierarchy, I supposed.

Another scenario I would like to share here which happens in my own working place. The nature of our work requires us to speak with the kwailos all the time. There's this one colleague of mine who would automatically change his accent whenever that needs arise. From an Ah Beng he suddenly transforms himself to Andrew & he thought he was making an impression by doing so but little did he knows that he's just making a fool out of himself !

My point here is that speaking in English with an accent doesnt place you at a special rank in the local social hierarchy. Neither would you gain more respect from others. In fact, would end up being the gossip material among your peers. What matters most is the perfection of your English in terms of grammar & pronunciation.

To those who naturally speaks English with the Mat Salleh accent, just continue being yourself & be proud of it. And to those who are just faking it, please dont over do it coz for all I know, you've just turn yourself into a real loser !

Draw Something

Draw Something - the new app that has taken the world of smartphones by storm. If you love playing Pictionary as a board game with friends, now you can doodle away mobile style with Draw Something. It is a simple and intuitive game that tests your artistic skills.

Developed by OMGPOP, this online game is available to both IOS and Android platforms. Players used their phones as a canvas; their fingers as paintbrush. You can play either with your friends or even strangers, taking turns to draw pictures; to guess what the opponent has drawn. You can pick from three options, varying in difficulty, and win coins if their partner correctly guesses what the drawing depicts.

There's both a free and a paid version of the game. The paid version eliminates ads, adds about 2,000 more words, and gives you 400 free coins (you can also opt to buy coins separately if you'd rather not wait to earn them). Those who play a lot may want to put down money for the paid version, as there are only so many times you can stand having to draw Lady Gaga.

It was Lin who first came to me begging to download this app into my phone so that she could play the game with me. I was a bit reluctant at first knowing how much I despise computer / phone games. But after much persuasion & assurance from Lin that this game is a bit different from the rest, I finally agree to download it into my phone.

True enough, like others I was bitten by the Draw Something bug too. I quickly got semi-addicted (not fully yet so far) to this drawing games, though I must admit that I am a very bad artiste huhuhu.

Here are the collections of my drawings which I considered as the best to my standard wahahaha :

Not so bad lah kan my drawings tu? But of course if you compare to the below drawings I found in the net, mine are just so crappy ! I really cant imagine how people can actually draw these on their phones - it's just too impossible to draw something so impressive like these using just the tip of your fingers.....it must be the Stylus pen they are using. Honestly, if I were given the Stylus to draw, I still couldnt draw as perfect as these :

Luckily none of my drawing buddy are as good as these people - otherwise I would be too embarrassed to even play the game with them. Anyway just for the fun of it, can you guess what these two drawings are ? For your info, I failed to guess these two drawings - it was too confusing especially the first one.

Have fun guessing peeps !!

Kan Aku Dah Kata...

Entry kali ni khas untuk my BFF - Mimi Suryana Abdul Rahim ( siap nama penuh lagi hehehe). I've been telling her for so many times but she refused to believe me just becoz she's head over heels in love with him - in denial la tu, which is quite normal.

When you love somebody, everything about him seems perfect and flawless. No matter how hard people try to convince you about the not-so-good things about him doesnt seems to register in your mind. And that's exactly what happen to my Mimi friend......hikhikhik.

Mimi dearie, udah ku bilang sama lo...namanya Haron tapi lo nggak mau percaya....lo bilang gue dengki. The truth has finally prevailed ........taraaaaaa :

See, at least I was a bit kind by saying that his real name is just Haron instead of Mat Haron hahahaha. Ku sangka Aaron rupanya Mat Haron !!!!  Klas kau Haron !!!

As I am writing this, I am sure lots of other Harun out there wants to be called Aaron by now - the glamour version for Haron. But then, what's in a name? Maybe unless you a hot celeb like this Mat Haron !

I'm Backkkkk !!!!

Oh yes, I am back & I hope this time it’ll be forever ( cant believe I have the guts to actually say this duhhhh).

So what brought me back to this wonderful, beautiful, awesome-ful blog? It’s not that I’ve forgotten about it – tempat jatuh lagikan dikenang, ye tak? Though I didn’t write anymore for the past few months ( 5 months to be exact) I would still visit Red Scoot On The Move every now & then just to admire my own writings hahaha – especially those parts where I bitched about guys - they are all so inspiring, I must admit !

This morning I receive an sms from an unknown number asking me to update my blog. Guess who was that? Apparently this guy was blog walking & bumped into Red Scoot On The Blog – and obviously he knows it’s mine (who wouldn’t when I have all my pics splattered all over it hahaha). The scary part is that this guy is actually staying in the same apartment I am staying !!! Die lorrr……

The moment I knew it was him, my mind starts working at its superfast rate thinking have I wrote anything about my fellow neighbours? Yes? No? Maybe…..huhuhu. But at least nothing bad about him J. Well, like the world we’re staying in, the internet world is not that big either after all.

So, what actually happen to me? What makes I lost that blogging mojo? Apart from the huge dose of laziness that has been comfortably inhabiting my body, I'll put the blame on the late Steve Job. If it’s not becoz of him, IPad & IPhone wouldn’t have been created. And if & only if those two gadgets were not around, I wouldnt have been too occupied that I could actually deserted my beloved blog.

It all started with my obsession with first, IPad then followed by IPhone. I spent most of my time with these 2 gadgets - playing games, browsing the hundreds of apps in the Apple Store and after I got my phone, I was hooked up with WhatsApp Messenger - credits to Mimi & Mantong for their participation...hurrahhhh !!!

If I were to write down everything that has been happening for the past 5 months, it'll be one hell of a long post for sure. Hence, I'm juz gonna make a summary of it ....and just for the record - I didnt get married hahaha :

1) I've finally found the love of my life - with Iphone & IPad, who needs a man ?

2) Emptied my savings by revamping my apartment - a total blessing in disguise that I dunno whether to laugh or to cry. Knowing that I am so vulnerable, I shoudnt have spent so much time with Mantong who has been very busy renovating his newly bought condo. That's me - I got very easily influenced especially when it comes to damaging myself huhuhu.

Ada macam dalam majalah Impiana tak? #mode perasan

3) My buddy, Farrah finally got married to her Mauritian fiancee - congrats darling, am so happy for you ! I should start planning my hols to Mauritius now that I have free accommodation over there wooo hoooooo !!!

The happy couple - cepat2 dapat baby, k !

4) Me & my bro - we finally took the U-turn & revived our brother-sister relationship for good. I've been missing you Long & I'm so glad you're back into my life again. Syukur, alhamdulillah.

5) My BFF, Carol left to join another company - good for her ! Only thing is that I've been missing her so much ever since....huhuhu. No more taking self obsessed pics in the morning...no more shopping trips to pav/klcc/bb plaza...... no more guy-bitching session throughout the day.... damn, I missed you girl !

Darling, I had hard times looking for our best pics together since all of them are simply gojez

6) I am officially 42 years old as of last week - wiser & one year older but STILL a head turning chick wooooo hoooooo !!!

7) Volunteered myself to be part of my apartment's management committee - which took most of the very limited free time I had. Something to give back to the community - at least.

8) My BFF, Jamie is now my housemate on a temporary basis till she moves into her new apartment next month - I just wish she could stay forever with me.

My cute housemate....love u muahhhhhh !!!!

All and all, life has been great and I am counting my blessings. Praise to Allah. Though my parents are 200++ km away, I am so lucky I have good friends around me who would be there for me when I need them. Like a friend of mine said, we should live this life with zest & enthusiasm....and for me, my friends are that zest of my life ! Alhamdulillah.

Lets cherish whats yesterday and enjoy whats today as tomorrow is still out of sight....
