Sunset @ Taman Tasik Ampang Hilir

It is so peaceful at sunset,
They show all dreams to be met
In it, memories are also held
There in your heart, your fears are quelled

It reminds you of all those times you flew high
And with those memories of soaring above,
You have the hope and strength to find new love

Because at that sunset you find peace
There, is where your fears all cease
For dreams you find your strength to fly
There, in that sunset sky.

Secret Recipe

The initial plan is to have lunch at our new favourite restaurant, Restoran Ayahanda. However, when we reached there it was already 2.30 pm and most of the dishes have already finished. We're a bit disappointed especially Marsya but then what can we do since it's our own mistake for being late.

This is how pleasant we looked before the food came

Marsya then suggested Secret Recipe as an alternative. So, we headed straight to the one in Pandan Indah. Frankly, I've never tried out their food except for the cakes. But I've heard some good reviews / comments on their other menus.

Our lunch turned out to be a complete disaster. The food there in Secret Recipe sucks big time! For the price I've to pay, it's really not worth it. Frankly, I would say that the food at the pasar malam are much better.

What we've ordered are Spaghetti Bolognaise, Curry Laksa and Mutton Black Pepper Pie. The spaghetti is so damn dry and when I asked for an extra sauce, they said it's a pre-packed thingy, so no extra sauce is available. What they did is that they just unpack the sauce & reheat it in the microwave oven. Crappy......really crappy.

The Curry Laksa is as bad. Dunno whether it's a curry or masak lemak kuning. There's no specific taste to it......it is just so bland. The pie is the worst. The filling tasted like it is already spoiled. I have to take it out from my mouth after biting it......yeah, it is that bad !

I dunno whether it only applies to the P.Indah branch since I've never tried their food elsewhere. But one thing for sure is that I wont be spending a single cent anymore at this premise with an exception to their cakes only. I really think they should just stick to the cake business & forget about diversifying !

Restoran Ayahanda

For the past 1 week or so, myself & Marsya have been the very loyal customer for this restaurant. It is a new restaurant in Pandan Indah which I've just recently discovered about 2 weeks ago.

This restaurant serves traditional Malay food - nasi campur la. They have quite a number of dishes which ranges from chicken, seafood, fish & vegetables. Pendekata, semua masakan Melayu lah ! Apart from the nasi campur, they also have curry me, mi rebus & laksa....but I have yet to try out these options.

At the moment, the crowd is not that great yet. Maybe because the existence of this restaurant has yet to be known to the public since the location is not really visible from the main road. I'm sure it'll attracts more customers in time to come since there are not so many restaurants which sells nasi campur in this area.

The quality of food by the way, is very good. So far, all of the dishes I've tried are very good in taste. It's like home-cooked food. My Marsya who is considered as very choosy eater, liked the food here......and the drinks too. We often came upon restaurant who just couldnt make the drinks to our taste. This particular restaurant however, has never failed to satisfy us with their drinks - the taste is just right every time. As for the prices, it is quite fair I would say.....prices that wont make one's eye popped out.

Anyway, we would be the first to line up if the restaurant are to issue the customer's privilege card coz Marsya doesnt want to go to other places anymore nowadays. Less headache for me though !

My Red Scooter

As of today 8.8.2009, genaplah 4 tahun akak jadi minah rempit tak berlesen.....hehehe. 4 great glorious years. Frankly, I'm so grateful that I've decided to buy a scooter 4 years ago. It all started that one day when I was coming back from work. I was in my car then, which was in the static condition due to the traffic congestion. Then, came along this girl in her kapchai going swiftly in between cars. That incident has actually triggered me to be just like her - to be able to beat the traffic !

That was then I started to survey the best yet cheapest scooter in the market which finally brought me to Yamaha Ego. The price then was RM4,500.00. I've to wait for about 3 weeks for the red ones since red has always been my favourite colour. That is also where I got the name "Red Scoot" from. Quite a history huh.....

As I mentioned earlier, I am so grateful for opting to ride to work. There are so many great things that came along with it. First, the cost - I could save at least 80% of my traveling expenses a month. Riding a bike would only cost me RM30/month for both parking & petrol as compared to RM200 for car park....let alone the petrol ! On top of that, it only took me 15 minutes to get to the office - how much more convenient can it be ?

The only drawback to this is obviously safety la. Riding is undoubtedly dangerous - macam mentimun ngan durian la....menggolek kena, digolek apatah lagi ! Just need to be extra careful. Did tergolek 1 -2 times during the first few months - yet to master the skill of balancing. Sekarang dah terror....hehehe....berdesup pergi nyerrrrr !!!!

Still - Brian McKnight

Abe9 dedicated me this song in FB today which makes me walk on cloud nine for the rest of the day.......hehehehe.

Still

Funny when you stop and think
times goes faster then you blink
nothings ever like it was
but girl we've got a special thing
all the happiness it brings
is more than enough

I know its hard to believe
your still the biggest part of me
all I'm living for
I still think about you
I still dream about you
I still want you
and need you by my side
I'm still mad about you
all I ever wanted was you
your still the one

It's hard to breathe when we're apart
you're like sunshine in my heart
I keep you here inside
you've been everything to me
you've been and always will be
the apple of my eye

And I know its hard to believe
you're still the biggest part of me
all I'm living for
I still think about you
I still dream about you
I still want you
and need you by my side
I still mad about you
all I ever wanted was you
your still the one

If you love me
look into my eyes and say you do
I've been waiting all my life
for someone just like you
baby all that we've been through
girl I'm still in love with you
and I want you to know I do, I do

I still think about you
I still dream about you
I still want you
and need you by my side
I'm still mad about you
all I ever wanted was you
you're still the one

Qing Zhen Chinese Muslim Restaurant

Having to attend a seminar / training can be a very painful experience sometimes especially when the things that were discussed it's not directly related to our job......the boredom, the sleepiness, the dreadfulness...... all these the the tortured situations we'll have to go through without fail. But then, as the saying goes... every clouds has it's silver lining. Of all the difficulties & hardships, there's a reward awaiting at the end of the road. In this case, it would be.....the food. Hehehehe....

Tonight, we're having an 8-course chinese dinner at the Qing Zhen, which is a Chinese Muslim restaurant located in the Novotel Hydro Majestic Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. I have made a few attempts to try out their food before but to no avail. There are always obstacles along the way which stopped me from being able to do so. This time, I would finally able to execute my so called "unaccomplished mission" & the best thing is that......it's FOC !

We arrived at the restaurant 15 mins ahead the schedule which gives me the opportunity to capture some nice views of the place with my IXUS 860IS. There is an aura of peace and tranquillity as I entered Qing Zhen with a touch of the Islamic architecture and soft Chinese music. The restaurant is not so heavily decorated with an amazing choice of ceiling lights.

Overall, the food is okay. I wouldnt say it's superb because I've tasted a much better chinese food elsewhere - Lai Po Heen @ Mandarin Oriental to be exact. Out of 10, I would rate them as 6 stars only - just a little bit above average. One thing I couldnt understand about Chinese course dinner is that, why does the rice comes last? We will be stuffed with all sort of food from chicken, prawns, fish etc and they expect you to still have a room for the rice! I dont know about everyone else but for me, it's way too much for one night. By the time we reached the 6th course, my stomach is too bloody tight already that I cant even shoved a single drop of liquid anymore !

Asia Pacific 2009 Power Seminar

Am having the Asia Pacific 2009 Power Seminar today & tomorrow which is going to be kindof a strength test for me...... a test to determine how strong am I in keeping my eyes wide open ! Anyway, I've been quite successful so far.......hehehehe. By the way, I am writing this blog entry during the seminar - am bored to death already !

The seminar is held at the Crown Plaza hotel. When I first heard of the venue, I was so thrilled bcoz that would means lunch will be at the Planters Inn Restaurant where there'll be lots of raw salmon served...yummy !

Sadly,
luck is not on my side this time. Carol & myself were going round & round the restaurant looking for our salmons but no sign of them at all. We've then being told by the waitress that they are not included in the menu currently......sigh. Guess, we'll just have to make do with the smoked salmon - less juicier & less sweeter.

It's not only the salmon actually..... the food, as in general is lack of variety anymore. The choices are no longer impressive like they've used to be. Even their dim sum are now limited to char siew pau - no more those delicious chicken siew mai........another sigh ! I guessed the hotel's business somehow or rather got hit by the recession too !

Fortunately, my favourite dessert is still there. I love their bread pudding very much. I've always spared some space in my tummy for this particular dessert. It's to die for !

Santai Suri SPA Promotion

Received this promo from Julie last week. Frankly, I'm a bit "ulu", meaning that I've never been to a SPA in my entire life. The idea of stripping my clothes off in front of a stranger really scares the shit out of me. Seriously, that is the only reason that stopped me from going. This promo however does look interesting though. Maybe I should give it a shot this time. The drawback to this offer is it's location.....in Bangi. A bit far off from my place.

Anyway, those who are interested, especially those who are staying near Bangi could try this place out. For those who already did it, please drop me a comment on your experience. Thanks !

Taman Tasik Ampang Hilir

This is the newly opened recreational park in Ampang area which is situated by the Middle Ring Road II highway - just at the Ampang exit (if you're coming from Kesas). This lake is one of the many deserted mining pools in the city which have been transformed into a sleek recreational area - hats off to the Kuala Lumpur City Hall !

The lake holds some sentimental value to me though. I used to had an evening stroll around the lake with my best fren, Atie since her family stayed just a few metres away from the lake. We would brought with us some kuih or keropok & had a mini picnic there while enjoying the calming & soft evening breeze. The lake is also a famous fishing spot for the Ampang residents.

The government started to develop the lake about a year ago. Every time I passed by the MRR-II, all I could see was a 10 feet high fence surrounding the area making it impossible for anybody to have a sneak preview of the park. It was not until June this year that the fence was finally brought down to reveal the wonderful sight of the park. Ever since I had a glance of the park, I've told myself that I would be among the first who would go there once it's open.

I'm not really sure when it is officially open to the public but since last week I've been seeing people using the park. So, today I've make it a point to experience the serene & tranquility of the park myself.

It was approximately 8.30 am when I reached the place. It was indeed a very nice & beautiful park - spotlessly clean & sleek with
a well laid-out jogging track, surau, exercise stations, food court, an activity centre and the pre-requisite children’s playground. I just hope the Ampang citizen is grateful & thankful enuff that they would take good care of the park.

These couple must be so in love that they've forgotten the fact that they're too old to be on that swing - darn vandals !

My Saturday Outing

Originally, I'm supposed to take Noriah's daughter for a movie today but she called it off the last minute. So that leaves me with nothing for the day since I didnt have any contingency plan. Feeling bored being alone at home, I've decided to extend my horizon beyond Pandan Indah - Mid Valley here I come !

This decision of mine is indeed a disaster & certainly not a good one....timing is juz so way out ! Apparently there're a number protest demonstrations at a few locations in the city today. This road rally was organized by the opposition party in order to relay a strong message to the government to abolish the ISA ruling.

Middle Ring Road II @ 11.00 am

Due to this protest, there are numerous of roadblocks being carried out by the police force - dont ask me what's the purpose of it coz I really dont know. All I know, it has caused a massive traffic jams at most of the major roads here in the city. What ever the purpose is, I just couldnt see the effectiveness of having these roadblocks around. If it's to prevent the people from joining the demo., they're just wasting their time. When there's a will, there's always a way....people would somehow or rather find their own way to be there !

Federal Highway @ 7.30 pm

As mentioned earlier, choosing today as my outing-day is a complete disaster. I spent almost 3 1/2 hours on the road going to & coming back from Mid Valley, when during normal days 1 hour is sufficient enuff.

Since I've spent so much time on the road, I've to make sure that the trip is worth while, isnt it? It is just too absurd to spend only 1 - 2 hours there for all the pains i've to go through earlier, resulting me surveying one shop to another for at least 5 hours or so....hehehehe. Jadi cam pegawai banci la pulak ! Well, that's the good news. The bad news, on the other hand, I wont be spending that much of time for nothing, wouldnt I? So, this is what I've rewarded myself with for those long hours driving & walking today......hehehehe

Isn't all these cool?
