Facelift

No.....dont go !!! This is indeed the correct blog. It's just.....different. A bit slicker. A bit refined. Dont you just love this new look? I hate to admit but the old RSOTM looks a bit too girly and childish, dont you think so? Those flowers, blinkies, cartoons and animations are just a bit too much. We need to look professional in order to be treated like one and this new template definitely portrays that. Yesss !

.
Ok, stop ! Cut the crap !

The fact is that I love my old template so very much I feel like crying already. The flowers, the blinkies, the animations....those are the lifelines to my blog. They made the blog looked so cheerful and fun. Who cares about looking professional....they are just so boring. I love to see those colourful widgets that decorate my blog.....the animated marquee which welcomes my readers....those daisy buttons....uwaaaa i miss them already.

Here's what happen. Last night when I logged in to my blog, they looked so messed up which was entirely my mistake for deserting it. Images  went missing, widgets malfunctioning, labels gone haywire and a few more glitches here and there. So, today I thought of tidying things up in here, so that it wont looked that pathetic anymore, but little that I know this noble intention would end up in disaster.

Apparently, after a few years I have forgotten a lot of things about maintaining a blog. Things like HTML scripts, CSS and widgets were all so familiar, yet so alien to me. Nevertheless, I started deleting all unnecessary widgets without realizing that I have accidentally deleted the blog background.....yes that beautiful stripes background.

If I had stopped and think for just 30 seconds, then I would still be looking at my chirpy, beautiful template. I've spent the whole day trying to resuscitate my old template but to no avail. What's done can no longer be undone, the milk has spilled and no points crying over it. Only thing I can do now is to just being positive about it.  At least I didnt lose the whole blog kan......

Same blog, same content......new look and of course, new hope.

My Come-Back Post

I was already on bed, tucked under my worn-out blankie getting ready to travel to the other world when all of a sudden i decided to open up my FB. I was sleepy n it was already past midnite and yet i have to flip open the Ipad cover....what else do you call this if its not jodoh rite ? LOL

You know Facebook will everyday send us notifications on memories we had on that particular day - stuffs we posted on our walls, be it the food we had, places we've been to or a mere pathetic attention-seeking status. In my case, it was my blog post sharing in 2010 which appeared in one of my memories today....

I know i have been neglecting my beloved ( i feel a pang of shame saying this, honestly) blog for a long, long time. While reading that particular post (which appeared to be quite a good one...ehemm ) all those love and passionate feelings suddenly swelled in me which makes me miss blogging so much.

I was once an avid blogger n i really loved blogging so very much. At that point of time it never occurred to me that i would someday stop from blogging considering how passionate i was. Kita hanya merancang kan.....I cant remember what actually happened but I would like to find an easy way out by putting the entire blame on FB....aci tak ? And speaking of this i salute my bff, Ain who still updates her blog ( http://classychattychic.blogspot.my/ ) regularly...hats off to you dear !

So, being an OCD ( i think i am gonna write about this someday ), i just cant wait not a minute longer. I really have to write something tonite. It may not be something important but i need to do it in order to fulfill that intense desire this very moment.

I remembered downloading the blogger apps few years back as an attempt to blog again (which i failed miserably) but unfortunately that apps has no longer exist ....sigh. Since i am very much fired up with this blogging thingy at the mo, i end up buying the BlogPress apps for USD $2.99 (i hope its worth it). See how bersemangat i was ? I just hope the flame wont die as fast as i decided to buy the apps .....ameen...ameen.

I think this is good enuff to be my come-back post after my long, long rest....ok lah kan for a start? Who would have guessed Red Scoot On The Move being updated tonite at 1.30 am? Neither do i.....hahahaha.

Itulah...kalau dah jodoh tak ke mana ye tak ?

p/s  Those grammatical errors....well, blame it on my English teacher who has migrated to Kiwi Land ( i hope she's reading this, else i need to tag her in FB ).

FMFA 2014 X Dr. Martens Boot-Away Competition

Dr. Martens Airwair Malaysia is having the 'Boot-Away' Instagram competition where contestants shall upload their creative photos on Instagram, adding caption that answers:  WHAT DO YOU STAND FOR IN FMFA 2014 ? Easy kan? And the best part is they are giving away 26 pairs of Dr. Martens !!!

When I discovered about this competition, it was just a day before the closing date, phew…. and I havewas so determined to win a pair of Dr. Marts. The next thing I should be doing is getting my picture taken and it has to be with Red Riant in it. Dr. Martens alone is cool but with a Vespa, it’s gonna be even cooler !

So that very evening after work, I’ve engaged my personal photographer, Marsya to help me captured the best pic of me with my Dr. Martens and Vespa…..fefeeling model gitu, chewahhh ! Though it’s not an easy job to get the best shot (considering the amateur photographer, although the model is somewhat professional  LOLS ), but we manage it through somehow.

So going through all the pics taken I have shortlisted 2 and using all the available apps in my Ipad, I started editing those pics to perfections. I was unsure as to which pics I should be using for the competition, so I decided to get some opinions from my colleague friends.

I was about to upload the selected pic when I noticed the closing time which is 12 pm. I froze for a few seconds and my face turns pale. It was already 1.00 pm at that time, for God’s sake. I dunno what happen but I was positively sure that the closing time is 12 midnight. I mean, my eyes did see the time as 12 pm but when it gets to my brain, it got translated as 12 midnite…….uwaaaaaaa !!!!

There’s nobody else but me that gotta be blamed here. If only I’d be more observant or maybe, focused then I won’t be this disappointed and upset. I then checked out other photos uploaded for the competition hoping that those pics are far more better – at least it would makes me feel better, right.

Well looks like things get even worse – the pics uploaded are more or less are at the same par with mine with some even worse. I felt terrible then…there is a chance of me winning a pair of Dr. Marts if and only if……uwaaaaaaa.

Seeing me so stressed up like that, my friends then were asking me to go ahead and upload my pic even though it’s already due. Just upload and who  knows, they might like the pic and decided to extend the closing time. Miracles do happen sometimes……

So, that was exactly what I did – and this was the said pic.  :

I STAND FOR THE AWESOMENESS OF VESPA

P/S Just for the record, I didnt win thic competition...macam frust la jugak sebab perasan gambor ni macam happening sangat kan...anyway, I strongly believe that I didnt win coz I uploaded my pic after the competition has already closed. I might have won if it's otherwise #memangakuperasan

My Belated Birthday Cake

Pralinosa – a name as beautiful as it is. Pralinosa in the culinary dictionary means “hazelnut paste” and in my very own dictionary, Pralinosa is my forever and ever no. 1 favourite cake. The only cheese cake where you can’t possibly detect the taste of cheese at all. And it is for the same reason; that a non-cheese eater like me loves it so much.

Frankly, I haven’t eaten this cake for so long that I really couldn’t recall the last time I had it…so long that I can’t even remember the taste. All I can say is that it was so heavenly good and simply out of the world. I know I sounded a bit exaggerated but that’s the truth about this Pralinosa. Sinfully delicious!

Remember earlier I wrote about my friend cum colleague who accidentally forgotten my birthday? Hehehe…..apparently guilt comes with a price and the best part of being guilty is that you will do your very best to kill that shitty feelings in you – like buying the victim her favourite cake, for that matter !

Ija came to work this morning with a box in her hand. She then came straight to my desk and handed me the box with a sorry face. A belated birthday cake for me …….yippie !! A blessing in disguise, that is. I just can’t wait for the day to end and savour a bite on this cake since I am fasting today. And one thing I am very sure of is that I won’t be disappointed.

To Ija, thank you so much for taking all the hassles to buy this Pralinosa for me. I hope you will forget my birthday again next year and get me this cake again ! Love you !

A Quiet Birthday

It was my 44th birthday yesterday…… a quiet one indeed.

The first to wish me was my darling Marsya, of course, while we were lying on bed waiting to fall asleep on that 25th night. A birthday wish from a daughter, with a peck on the cheek is all a mummy could have asked for. Thank you so much dear !

 LOL......this is so me !!!

Then just after midnight, a birthday wish from my best friend, Chor whom I’ve known since we were 8. A birthday wish via WhatsApp along with a string of ballons, hailer, cakes, flowers emoticons etc, as if we were having a party in there hahaha. Thank you Chor for all the well wishes & may our dreams for “lelaki kaya dan beriman” will soon came true LOL.

Not so long after Chor’s, came along my next birthday wish from my one & only sis, Aida. Didn’t expect to get it from her that early and it was quite a surprise knowing that she’s still up at that hour. Kesian Aida…..it was her son, Shafiy who doesn’t seem ready to call the day off any earlier. Missed that adorable lil’ nephew of mine…muaaaahhhh.

Then, the next morning while busy juggling my burnt caramelized chicken wings and; cooking Paprik for lunch (I know I am awesome *wink wink* ), my mum called to wish me – thank you mak, love you ! Well, just for the record, I managed to save those chickens wings from suffering a 3rd degree burnt, and therefore are still edible….phewww.

So, that’s the first 7 hours of my 44th years on earth…….

As I settled down at my desk in the office, my other BFF, Jamie called. I was so happy to hear her voice that I don’t really care if she called only to ask me about the weather  instead of wishing me on my birthday….but she didn’t. Jamie had been very, very busy for the past two months or so, and to even get her on the phone is impossible, let alone meeting up.  So I was the happiest person that very morning knowing the fact that she remembered and took the effort in the midst of her hectic life, to call and wish me. Terharu akak…

Later that day, were the wishes from my special group of friends and my brother  - both via the WhatsApp group, Jornam and Family respectively. Only one wish on my Facebook page ( just the way I wanna it to be ) from my eldest brother and I am glad he wrote it much, much later in the evening.

Last but not least, at 10:00 pm last night my old friend cum colleague sent me her wishes. Actually, I was waiting for it the whole day we were in the office but I guessed it must have slipped her mind. Anyway, it’s the thought that counts right?

A friend asked how would I celebrate my birthday this year? Where is the cake? The truth is a birthday is just another day for me. The last time I celebrated my birthday was during my 40th birthday coz it was a special phase in life and because I have amazing frens who threw a luxurious dinner for me.

And for the rest of the birthdays, it was just me and Marsya spending the day like any other days, counting my blessings and feeling grateful that Allah has spared my life this long…..while at the same time hoping for more good things and years to come. Ameen.

Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind

How happy is the blameless vestal’s lot!
The world forgetting, by the world forgot.
Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind!
Each pray’r accepted, and each wish resign’d
― Alexander Pope, Eloisa to Abelard

A quote from the movie, Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind I watched recently. An extraordinary 2004 movie which took 10 years for me to watch it.....but indeed, worth the wait. A movie where romance and sci-fi were combines so flawlessly. Easily among my favorite movies whenever I try to recall any.

If given a chance, would you erase all memories on someone you wished you've never met, so that all those pains can be wiped away? I remembered telling my daughter once that I wish I could erase all memories about a person I once loved so much coz it hurts like crazy every time the thought of him came lingering into my mind.

But all that changed after I watched this movie. ESOTSM is a story of a couple who undergo a procedure to erase each other from their memories when their relationship turns sour, but is is only through the process of loss that they discover what they had to begin with.

This is one movie which had that inspiring effect on me. The rarest of all films and a great work of art, that is. One thing I learned from this movie is that erasing any incident, nice or bad from our memories wouldn't do us any good at all. It is from those experienced that we learned to become a stronger person we are today.

Well, would it be an eternal sunshine when the mind is spotless? Are we truly happy if all bad experiences been removed from our mind? Is ignorance a total bliss? Those are the questions that would be running through our minds after watching this movie.

I hesitate to call it a romantic movie as it is more on relationship with a touch of some sci-fi elements. Absolutely brilliant screenplay & unique in its own way. To those who haven't got the chance to watch it, please do so....you won't regret it !

My Very First Shower Party

When I first got the Bridal Shower invitation from Christina (Carol's cousin), I was like, "bridal shower" ??? Heard of it before.....watched it in movies before.......but to experience it? Neverrrrr ! The next thing I know, all sort of questions started popping into my head : what should i wear ? What should i bring ? Do i have to do anything during the shower? Do I have to give a speech or something? When it comes to these kindof things...yes, you can call me kampung hahahaha.

So, last Saturday was the day......the surprise bridal shower for my best buddy, Carol who's getting married in two weeks time. My first ever surprise party and first ever wedding shower I've ever attended.... and I've ruined it by leaving Carol's present at home. I was already in front of the house when I realised that I forgot the present. Damn.....damn.....damn !!! Now nobody could ever see Carol in a sexy black lingerie ! ~ sigh ~

Anyway, it was fun for all of us there. Although we were all unprepared when she arrived, we still managed to surprise her. She was so shocked the moment we shouted "surprise" as she opened up the door.

It was so nice of Bridget (Carol's auntie) for throwing up such a lovely shower for her niece. Carol's theme colour for the wedding is Tiffany Blue (as how Pinterest calls it ) and Bridget used the same colour theme for the shower which makes everything looks really, really sweet. And the best thing is that, I coincidentally wore the same colour too....sweeeetttt !!!!

The people are warm and the food are to die for. We had Lasagna, mashed potato salad, mixed salad and meatloaf - the first time I've ever tasted a meatloaf and it was really awesome. There's also a 2-tier butter cake covered in tiffany blue coloured fondant. You see, I havent been updated my blog for so long that these days I dont bother taking pics anymore. So, I cant really share the pics for the food here but the cake is really beautiful, trust me !

To Carol, congratulations darling! It’s hard to believe the time is finally here. You’re getting married, and I am so happy to be sharing your wedding with you. One thing I am very sure of is that, you are going to make the most beautiful bride ever. Wishing you more love and happiness than you can ever imagine and may your life be all that you’ve dreamt it to be. Enjoy this time in your life. I am so gonna miss you but I know you'll never be far away. Love you lots !

My So-Called Corelle Disappointment

So, I've gotten my Corelle......and technically I should be happy, right? Frankly, I was happy when I first get hold of the box.....my face was gleaming with joy and smiles were all over my face. Unfortunately the smiles and the gleam lasted for a mere 1 minute.

Here's the thing.....

When I opened up the box, this is what I see :

The first thing I grab was the mug and the moment it's in my hand, my heart immediately filled with doubts. From what I knew, Corelle's product are known for it's thin and light features but this mug is certainly none of those. They were heavy and thick. But what actually freaked me out is the print at the back of it : Made In China !

The first thing that rushed into my head was that I've been cheated. No wonder it's cheap, I kept on telling myself. Feeling confused & disappointed, I quickly did a quick search in the net to find out whether or not I've been cheated.

Hahahaha.....silly me ! I dont even have the full knowledge about the product and yet still wanna be skeptical of it. I deserved a slap on my face that day. Apparently, I was not cheated after all - what I bought is a genuinely a Corelle. Only the mugs were made of porcelain and came from China since they were an extension to the original set.  The plates are all light and thin as claimed and the Made From USA prints are clearly printed at the bottom of it.

So, that's the mug part and no, I am not done yet.

You know when you are with frens eating at the restaurant? You thought what you've ordered was already the best from the menu not until all the food arrives at the table. Suddenly the food in your fren's plate looks more tempting and you started to regret.

The thing here is, my mum ordered a set of the Corelle too after I told her about mine. Her choice was the Daisy Days set, which looks like this :

Now that both sets are in front of my eyes, the Fine Lines set doesnt look that nice anymore ( here we go againnn.... ). Daisy Days seems nicer.....huhuhu. The Fine Lines suddenly looks plain and boring. Just look at this luncheon plate....macam kosong sangat kan?

At least the dinner plate looks better- not as bare as the luncheon plate, from what I see it.

You see, once the negative aura surrounds you, all you can see are flaws and more flaws. Next, I started examining the soup bowl and the black lining kindof hurts my eyes....just why cant they make it in red?

Aduyaiii.....why do I have to be this mengader2 kan? I am sure all you will be saying that by now. At one point I thought of calling Jun and change my set to different design but come to think of it, nahhhh.......I know I cant be easily pleased. So, I am just gonna stick to what I have and make the best out of it. I know it wont be easy but I dont think I really have a choice.

Be happy and the most important thing, BE GRATEFUL !

The Corelle Fever

I know I am supposed to talk about my walk-in wardrobe in this particular post but normal human like me can only plan. Apparently, that dream of mine can only be realized in another week or so. Patient is a virtue....I kept on telling that to myself....sigh.

I was browsing the net the other day and one site brought me to another until I reached to this one website where they are selling imported household goods from overseas, primarily UK & USA. That has actually brought my attention to Corelle dinnerwares. Damn !

Corelle has been in the market for so long. The brand is so common and the quality of it's products have been acknowledged by many. The question here is, why am I never drawn to it before? There is only one answer to that question. Quality always comes with a price.

This is what i've saw in Jusco not so long ago :

A set of 16 pcs of Corelle dinnerware was priced at RM 600+ and I am one of those people who won't spend that much just for plates n such, coz I know the food would still taste the same whether you put it on a RM 100.00 plate or a RM 10.00 plate. Period.

I dont know what has gotten into me but when I saw the price published in the site, I immediately becomes excited.....very excited, in fact. The 16 pcs Corelle dinnerware cost only RM350.00 ! Though owning a set of this has never been in my wishlist, all of a sudden it has jumped to the very first line of the list ! Hahaha..... I am forever a specialist when it comes to spending money !

The urge of having a set of it is so strong that I spent the whole day browsing the net hoping to find one for me. There are a lot of suppliers around but unfortunately the order dates are already due.....huhuhu. The next shipment would only come somewhere around December which would be okay if I am celebrating Christmas....but Hari Raya is just a month away uwaaaa !!! Guess i have to make do with my old fashioned, heavy, thick plates.....

Then out of a sudden, while mourning for my loss, I remembered something......I remembered seeing a stack of Corelle dinnerware boxes somewhere. Yesss....that's it !. That was in Jun's house - the lady I bought the wallpaper from. I then quickly grab my phone & asked her whether she have in her stock the design that I desire i.e Corelle Fine Lines.

I was the happiest person on that day when she said yes. I myself cant believe my luck. At one point I already given up hope and swallowed my dreams of eating ketupat in a Corelle plate. And as I watched my dreams slowly vanished, a new package of hope unexpectedly arrived at my feet. Subhanallah....God is great !

So, this is it, my Corelle Fine Lines dinnerware :

Would I be a happier person this coming raya? Would my 2013 Aidilfitti be more meaningful ? Would this year's Hari Raya be merrier? Yes...yes and definitely a yes !

The Wallpaper Story

I have a lot of things going on around me since the last time I was here, which mostly comprises of the good ones, alhamdulillah. Everything is perfect, everything is good and everything is just great. All I am saying is that God has been so kind to me and I am surrounded by His blessings all the time.

I have so many great things to share here but today, I am just gonna talk about my house. As most of you are aware of, I am a home-decorating OCD. I have one long list of things I wanna do to that tiny-miny house of mine. What else can I do to my livings? What colour should I paint my bedroom? What accessories should I get for my kitchen? See, told 'ya I am an OCD !

Recently......3 days ago to be exact, I've just finished decorating one specific wall in my house. I decided to install a wallpaper on the wall of my dining area. I just feel that I need to add some umphh to that area. Something simple but will give a big impact to the whole house and a wallpaper is definitely the answer.

To begin with, this is how the so-called dining area looks like then, which was okay but a bit plain, I would say.

It took me almost a month to hunt for the right wallpaper, considering how picky and complicated of a person I am. What I have in mind is something outstanding which not only gonna liven up the dining area but the whole house indeed. So, after much deliberation, this is what I end up with :

Nevertheless, being a fickle-minded person, I'm still skeptical about the design I've chose. At times, I am not really sure that design would looks nice on my wall. At a worse time, I even have a second thought of putting a wallpaper there. Goshhh, what IS wrong with me ? Luckily I have Marsya who is never tired of convincing me that I am doing the right thing....phewww !!

So, last Tuesday is the day. I bought the wallpaper from Jun ( D'Naj Home Decor ) and engaged a contractor (whom I found in the internet), to carry out the task. And...drum roll please....here's the result :

Awesome isnt it? It's really, really nice and I am so loving it. I am so relieved & happy that I make the right decision. It really gives quite an impact to my house. The colour matches my beloved purple sofa perfectly and the design suits my house concept really well. #clapping

So, that's my wallpaper story. I am glad it's over & even glad it turns out really great.

Next would be a much bigger project.......the walk-in wardrobe.

Tungguuuuu !!!!!
