Holidaying
It's such a wonderful day today. Not only bcoz it's Friday but also due to the news I've got this morning from our VP. He's giving us a half day off today in lieu with the CNY....yippie !!! I was really hoping for this to happen as I dont wanna get myslef stuck in Karak Highway later. Yes, I'm going back to my lovable hometown, Kuantan after work today and as usual, I am already so excited.
Speaking of holidays, I've lined up a few plans for me & my precious this year. Nothing so hu-hah - just a few inbound places I've never been to before. Though Malaysia is not that huge but there are still some places I've never set my foot on. Come to think of it, we, Malaysians are much, much more luckier as compared to the Singaporean where they can finish exploring every inch of their country in just one day ( Singaporeans out there, no offense ok....peace ).
Just to share it with you, here are the places I have in mind :
1. Batu Caves - am going here next week with Marsya & a few others. It was 30 years ago since the last time I visited the place. As for my girl, she has never been here before & I thought it might be a good idea to take her there. I'm sure after 30 years, there will be a lot of difference to the place now.2. Ipoh - this may sound absurd since I've been to Ipoh a number of time already but all those trips were made
via a car. My plan this time is going to Ipoh by train since I've never ever take a train before in my 39++ years of age. Well, I've been on a train look-a-like before like those LRT, ERL, Monorail & such but not on that particluar conventional choo choo train. Have always wanted to try it at least once & I guess Ipoh is just the right destination. I could then stop by at the town for that delicious Mee Rebus Ramli ( am already salivating while writing this).
3. Fraser's Hill - though I'm from Pahang, I've never been to this part of the state yet. From what I've heard, visiting this place makes you feel like being in the overseas due to its cold weather but that was then. I'm sure it's not that cold anymore nowadays - but still, it's one of my travle destination this year.
4. Kuala Gandah Elephant Sanctuary - this place is located somewhere in Raub. From their website, it sounds quite a cool place. You've got the chance to get close and personal with the elephants - scary with a touch of fun though. Here's the website for those who are interested to find out the details about this place : Elephant Sanctuary
5. Colmar Tropicale, Bukit Tinggi - been here once somewhere last year. Love those beautiful French-like buildings. My camera was running out of battery when I was there last time. So, couldnt snap as many pictures as I want to, which really frustrates me. And becoz of that, I have to go back to this place to deal with my unfinished business.
6. Janda Baik - I passed by this area every time I went back to my hometown but it never really occurred to me to actually stop & check out the place. From the reviews I've read, it is quite a cool place for relaxing & getting in touch with the nature. Being remotely located, it provides a tranquil & serene atmosphere we, KL people in needs of.
7. Gua Tempurung - I've been planning to explore this lovely cave since last year with my colleagues but till today, it hasnt been materialized. It is a beautiful cave & the tour they're having for the visitors is quite interesting. It is such a big waste for not experiencing it when it is just right there in front of our eyes. Anyway, I will try to make it happen this year. This cave gonna see me & my friends crawling in them for sure !So, that's it. At this point of time, I'm just gonna stick to these seven destinations only. It's better to be realistic rather than greedy. So, if anyone of you out there would like to join these 2 hot & sizzling babes exploring these places, please let me know. We'll make it a "rombongan" if we have to. It'll definitely gonna be twice as fun with more people around, isnt it?

Dont Ever....
Don’t ever let people tell you that you aren’t good enough
Because you are.
Don’t ever give up your dreams
Because you need them.
Don’t ever compromise your morals
Because they make you who you are.
Don’t ever hide your feelings
Because someone’s willing to hear them.
Don’t ever think you’ve got it all figured out
Because the next moment you won’t.
Don’t ever live your life in the past
Because then you’ll miss out on the now.
Don’t ever let people bring you down
Because they don’t deserve to.
Don’t ever be someone you aren’t
Because then you’ll never know you who really are.
Don’t ever let someone tell you how you feel
Because it’s not their right to.
Don’t ever give up something that feels right
Because it probably is.
Don’t ever worry about the petty things
Because they just don’t matter.
Don’t ever run away from your problems
Because they always find you.
Don’t ever be afraid to take risks
Because they make life worth living.
Don’t ever let someone take away your happiness
Because it was never theirs to take.

The Traumatized Girl

She was only 10 when you first asked her to cook. Honestly she wouldn't mind even though her heart is screaming, wanting to go out & play with her friends. Being an obedient child she was, she kept her feelings & desire to herself and complied without a word for she knows it's all for her own benefit. True enuff, over the years she has learned a lot - through thick & pain. The credit would definitely be yours. Thank you.
By 12, she was capable of doing almost everything a housewife needs to do - from doing the laundry (by hand), marketing and cooking. Again, she neither complaint nor object as she's very much aware that it's time for her to repay your kindness for raising her up all those years.
The only thing she regretted was not being able to please you for everything she did. When other people bragged about their daughters, you would say the otherwise about her. She was lazy... she dunno to do this...she dunno to do that....never a good thing about her ever came out from your mouth. You can sometimes say all these with her presence to all your friends, which really broke her heart into pieces.
There's this one time when she asked you what to cook for lunch & you told her that anything will do. But then later why do you have to be mean & said this to her, "Is this all you cooked ? And you expect me to eat?" She never meant to fail you or anything. All she wanted to do is to please you but that seems to be quite impossible.
Every time she went and visit her parents, you wanted her to be back home the next morning as early as possible. At times she'll be a few hours late where she only got home at 10 - 11 am instead. You'll be so angry that you wont speak to her or even looking at her face for days. Frankly, she preferred it very much if you could just beat her up rather than emotionally abusing her like that. Physical pain can be easily cured but when your feelings are hurt, it'll take years to recovered.
When she first got her period, she told you about it hoping you would tell her what to do. Yet, all you can say is "So, what?" With tears running on her cheek, she walked to the nearest shop & bought herself the sanitary pad with her own money & learn to use it based on the picture printed on the box. She's only 12 at that time, for crying out loud !
Childhood experience can traumatize a person their whole life. It's not something that easy to get it over with. It'll somehow keep haunting them back. Till today, she still cried over it. The pain is still very strong as if it just happened yesterday. Even after 30 years, she would still woke up in the middle of the night, crying whenever the thought suddenly appeared in her head.
Anyway, she loved you very much & she knew that you loved her too. It's just that you have a different way of showing your love to her. She has also forgiven you for everything. The only thing she still cant do is to forget. How she wished she could erased all those from her mind, leaving only the beautiful memories of you. It's hard but not impossible and she's very sure that one day she would be able to do it. Insyallah.

Genji @ Hilton PJ

As planned earlier, me & my princess went to Genji @ Hilton PJ for lunch today. We're had our Japanese buffet lunch there - thanks to Red FM for the free vouchers. It's always good getting a free food - especially the expensive ones like Genji. FYI, their buffet lunch is priced @ RM 79/person - quite pricey, I would say.
Genji got its name from ‘Genji No Ma’, or ‘House of Genji’, which was named after a legendary nobleman… known as the shining Genji and famed for his appreciation and great passion for fine food, wine and lifestyle. Quite a name, huh !

A very beautiful setup with lovely interior reminiscent of a Japanese countryside restaurant. That would be my first impression as soon as I entered the restaurant. The restaurant's environment was very pleasant & serene especially with those man-made stream & fountain which makes the atmosphere more tranquil & relaxed.
Well, that's the physical look of the restaurant. Next, comes the most important part of any eating place which is no other than the food itself. I've been to other Japanese buffet restaurants in town like Rakuzen, Jogoya & Saisake and now Genji. Among the four, Saisake by far is still my favourite.

There are a few winning points as to why Saisake had been my choice. Apart from its location (which is just a few levels underneath my office), you'll be spoilt with more choices in Saisake. At Genji, they've limited their selections to Japanese food only, whereas in Saisake their food are more diversified. You can get almost all the popular Japanese cuisine at both places like sushi, teppanyaki, sashimi, teriyaki & tempura. What is special in Saisake is that they also have a lot of other foods apart from those Japanese norms. On top of that, Saisake is much-much more cheaper than Genji but yet their selections are greater.

Marsya was quite disappointed since her favourite lamb shank & steamed cod's fish head are not there. As far as Japanese food is concerned , I'm only interested in sashimi - those raw salmons in particular. Thank God their salmons are fresh......yummy ! Other foods are okay - more or less the same as Saisake in terms of taste & quality. Anyway, Genji's teppanyaki still cant beat Saisake's - or maybe my taste bud is already accustomed to Saisake's standard that I felt theirs are always better.
In summary, we do have a great time there at Genji. If you've never been to Saisake, you wouldnt be as disappointed as me & Marsya then. But as far as Japanese food is concerned, Genji should meet most expectations.

Sleepless In Seattle

When I fall in love
It will be forever
Or I'll never fall in love
In a restless world
Like this is
Love is ended before it's begun
And too many
Moonlight kisses
Seem to cool in the warmth of the sun
When I give my heart
I give it completely
Or I'll never give my heart
And the moment
I can feel that you feel that way too
Is when I fall in love with you
It will be forever
Or I'll never fall in love
In a restless world
Like this is
Love is ended before it's begun
And too many
Moonlight kisses
Seem to cool in the warmth of the sun
When I give my heart
I give it completely
Or I'll never give my heart
And the moment
I can feel that you feel that way too
Is when I fall in love with you
It took me 17 years to watch this movie & frankly, it's far than worth it. I am so loving this movie. The sweetest love story ever. So, so sweet & very, very funny too. One minute I'll be laughing out loud & the other minute I'll be weeping. Cant blame me......I'm a Piscean & being one, having a soft heart is my weakness.
There are so many things I love about this movie apart from its storyline. Anyway, I'm just gona list a few things I've learned after watching this movie - something to ponder :
1. It rains for 9 months in a year in Seattle. Didnt know that until I've watched this movie. I've got to learn Geography too......how nice !
2. Follow your heart even though it might seems crazy. Annie flew all the way from Baltimore to Seattle just becoz her heart tells her so. It's crazy, yes but it's all worth it.
3. Dont watch too many movies, love story in particular, after you've engaged. It can sometimes play your minds around leaving you feeling very lost & confused........hehehe. Just a friendly warning anyway. Those with a strong heart need not to worry though.
4. Love will always find its way through, even when you think it's impossible. That's the power of love. If the person's yours, nothing could stop it from happening.
5. Apart from being powerful, love is also supposed to be magical. You're supposed to feel the magic which tells you that it's him, your soul-mate. Dunno about you guys, but I've never really felt that magic yet - which explains why I am still alone.....huhuhu.
And another thing, I've just discovered that the Bollywood movie, Mann ( which Aamir Khan & Manisha Koirala acted in it) was actually an exact copy of a classic Hollywood movie called An Affair To Remember. So typical of a hindi movies but at least not those films my Shah Rukh was starring.....hehehe.
Anyway, An Affair To Remember is one movie I've gotta watch. It seems that 2 million copies of this movie have been sold after the release of Sleepless In Seattle !

5 People To Avoid On Road
Being a motorbike rider for 4+ years, not only it gave me an adrenalin rush at times, it also allows me to meet different types of people on the road. Knowing how aggressive Malaysian drivers are, the experience can be quite thrilling sometimes.
Today, I'm gonna list down 5 types of people I would like to avoid seeing on the road while I'm on my red scoot :

Twenties Girl

Been the die hard fan of Sophie Kinsella, I've waited long enuff to to get hold of this book. It took close to a year before the paperback edition came out. And I am the happiest person to find out that it is finally here.
When it comes to Sophie's novel, I dont really care what's the story all about. The plot may sounds boring or dull but knowing Sophie's talent, I dont have the slightest doubt in her. So far, none of her books fail to entertain me. I just love the way she writes - it's so simple yet fun.
It took me only one night to finish the whole book. The first 20 pages or so are a bit slow but once you continue reading, you'll be hooked for good. I sacrificed a few hours of my sleep last night coz I just cant put down the book. I have to finish it coz even if I decided to go to sleep, I'm pretty much sure that I wont be able to. My mind would be too busy wondering what the end of the story would be. So, might as well finished it & go to bed peacefully.
I'm not gonna write what's the story all about. But by far, this is the best of Sophie Kinsella's book - my favourite. I really love this particular ones. It makes me laugh & cry at the same time. Apart from the emotional side, there's a mystery to the story which only unfold towards the end. The story really takes a turn halfway through the book which makes me wanted to race to finish it to find out if all would come well in the end.
The ending of the story gives me a full satisfaction. It makes me see life in a different way. Though the ending is quite predictable, how Sophie developed each character & twisting the plot makes the story very unpredictable. Twenties Girl is truly an outstanding piece from Sophie Kinsella & the best so far.

Pappa Rich Kopitiam
This is another kopitiam among many others that has been mushrooming everywhere. I've been to this place before once just for a drink. Last weekend I decided to try out their food with my precious. There's one outlet nearby my place ( Taman Shamelin ) & that's where we've decided to have our brunch last Monday.
The area we've been to i.e. Taman Shamelin is more or less a dead place. Being an industrial area, it's quite a deserted place I would say. Most of the shop lots there are left empty & unoccupied. The only reason people were there is either for the schools, warehouse sales or the kopitiam la. I just couldt see any other reason that would attract people to be there. Since that's the case, the environment around the kopitiam is quite serene & relaxing. It's a very quiet place with less people & vehicles which makes it a perfect place to have coffee in the evening.
So, this is what we had that day :
Price : RM 8.90
The Verdict : 3 stars over 5 - it's ok, the taste is there but I've tasted a better ones elsewhere

Price : RM 3.80
The Verdict : Dont really know hat to comment on fries......fries is fries la. How good or bad can a fries be, right?

Price : RM 6.90
The Verdict : 4.5 stars over 5. I'm so loving it! The soya milk is pure & thick & the cincau plus gula melaka enhanced it taste even more. Highly recommended.

All and all, it's a place I would like to visit more often. I personally feels that Pappa Rich is much better that Old Town for their wider varieties. They have more selections for almost all categories - the drinks, bread, noodles etc especially the snacks. You'll easily be spoiled with choices. At Old Town, after a few visits there, you wont know what to order anymore.
The only downside to Pappa Rich is their prices. It's a bit on the higher side as compared to other kopitiam. But then, their portion is bigger especially their drinks. So, their prices cant really be the issue for not coming back to this place. As for me & Marsya, we would certainly come back to try out all other menus of theirs.

I Won!
I won ! I won ! And I am so happy. I'm not the lucky type who could easily won something out of a competition. Last week however, was my lucky day that I won something though it's not really huge that I could brag about all day. But then, it still make my day & I'm pretty much contented.
I won myself a Sunday buffet lunch (for 2) at Genji, PJ Hilton ! Yabeda bedooooo ! As it is, I am the greatest fan of Japanese food and as I'm writing this post, the raw salmon's visuals been playing in my mind already. Yummy!
It was just like other normal days at the office - doing my work while listening to Red FM. That particular day, they are having the Food Review On Air Contest where Genji is the subject. Dunno what inspired me that I thought of trying my luck to answer the question of which very straight forward & easy. It's just one sms away & that's how I got it ! Eazy peazy !
Anyway, I've already make a reservation for this Sunday. Good thing Marsya loves Japanese food too. Both of us juat cant wait to be there. I'm sure the food there are great coz free food are always good, isnt it?
