A Day of Thanks

I would like to make today's entry as a Thank You entry to express the overwhelming gratitude I'm having in me at this point of time.

First and foremost, of course my thanks shall be to Allah SWT for still giving me the precious chance to sip in the air through my lungs for another day. Thank you dear God !
Next would be to our tigers from the Malaysian Football Team for bringing back the AFF Suzuki cup (for the very first time) & making us all proud. You guys has proven your heroic capability where no laser could ever stopped you from grabbing that title. Malaysia boleh !!!!

Next would be to coach K.Rajagopal for taking our team to another level. Kudos to him. A tip to him : Mr. Rajagopal, you might wanna get yourself a pair of black Baju Melayu for the Datukship awarding ceremony......hehehehe. It's always good to be prepared, isnt it?

And being a good citizen I am, my special thanks also goes to our PM, Dato' Seri Najib for announcing tomorrow as a public holiday for all. This is by far, the best New Year gift all Malaysian ever got. Thanks a lot Dato' - we really need it ! ( but I still cant promise that I would vote for BN for the next election - chill Dato'......we just won the AFF Suzuki cup ! )

Last but not least, thank you so much to our VP, Eric Strecker for giving us a replacement leave on Monday for the New Year which falls on Saturday. Dont know what has really gotten into him that he's being so kind this year but I do hope this generosity act of him shall continue till next April (for the bonus). Aminnnnn !

See how happening my boss is !

That's it - my words of thanks are all out there & to those whom I missed out - thanks to you too ! May God bless us all !

Siti Di Alam Fantasi

Got the chance to watch this musical theatre of Siti Di Alam Fantasi last Sunday - thanks a bunch to Has & Abg Man for the discounted tickets ! It was a 2-in-1 event for us all where the kids got to enjoy the show & the mothers can have a get together session among themselves.

Has & Abg Man - great couple !

Though not everybody (from our Jornam group) could make it, we're glad some of us did. Besides myself, Has, Zizah, Ayu & Julie were there at Istana Budaya that evening. It has been a while since all of us got the chance to meet up - though some of us are actually staying in KL. With the limited time we had, we managed to catch up on each other's stories while having good laughs at Zizah's jokes & funny acts.

Rombongan Cik Kiah ke Istana Budaya

Though the title of this entry is Siti Di Alam Fantasi, honestly I cant comment much about the show. Reason being, I only watched it for the first half an hour or so ( or maybe even less than that). For the rest of the 1.5 hours, I was in my own fantasy land.....zzzzzzz.

The girls

Dont get me wrong here - there's nothing wrong with the show - it was not that bad that it could passed me out watching it. The blame was totally on me. The show was fun & great for kids & so-so for adults, I would say. The music was good, props were cool, costumes were colourful and script was okay too with some elements of comedy in it.

The kids - look at how creative they posed !

The only problem I had was on the castings. That was the main factor which contributed to my sleepiness. The main cast itself was forever on my not-so-favourite list. Liayan Jasmay - her gedik-ness kills me. As much as I despised Fasha Sandha, this particular female gave me the same vibes too. To make it worse, Johan Raja Lawak was also there. Liyana herself spells disaster in my vocabulary and Johan's presence sort of sealed that "disaster" word for good !

If it was not bcoz of Marsya & meeting up with the girls, I dont think I would be there watching the show. Anyway, making a trip to Istana Budaya that Sunday evening was really worth it. Being with those Jornam beauties are indeed an experience worth while. Thanks girls - you are awesome !

The Jornam beauties

P/S Those who are interested, the show is still available till the 31st December.

Happy Friday

Phenomenal Woman

Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I’m not cute or built to suit a fashion model’s size
But when I start to tell them,
They think I’m telling lies.
I say,
It’s in the reach of my arms
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
And to a man,
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees.
Then they swarm around me,
A hive of honey bees.
I say,
It’s the fire in my eyes,
And the flash of my teeth,
The swing in my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

Men themselves have wondered
What they see in me.
They try so much
But they can’t touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them
They say they still can’t see.
I say,
It’s in the arch of my back,
The sun of my smile,
The ride of my breasts,
The grace of my style.
I’m a woman

Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

Now you understand
Just why my head’s not bowed.
I don’t shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
When you see me passing
It ought to make you proud.
I say,
It’s in the click of my heels,
The bend of my hair,
the palm of my hand,
The need of my care,
‘Cause I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

I came across the above poem which was written by Maya Angelou. The wordings are absolutely beautiful & I enjoy the fact that it celebrates women as a whole. Reading the poem makes me believe that I truly am a “phenomenal” woman. We all can be.

The poem says it all. Women should stop comparing themselves with others because all they'll end up with are 10 more reasons to envy others. We, as a women agonize over how we look, how much we weigh, our hair, our sex life, so on and so forth. It’s not that we shouldn’t strive to improve ourselves if we so desire but I love the fact that the poem suggests to us that maybe, just maybe we are okay just the way we are.

I believe Maya Angelou wanted all women to believe that all women are truly phenomenal. We are wives, mothers, daughters, business women, artists and so many things. Though nobody could really do them all, some women can multi-task with unmatched skill - a talent men could never ever acquire.

All women are unique and beautiful. We don’t need to be loud or obnoxious to be noticed or heard. We only need to carry ourselves with dignity and pride.

My hope is that each of us will begin to see ourselves as phenomenal women. You are a phenomenal woman, too. And so is every other woman who walks on this planet .....

Have a nice weekend everybody !

Fraud SMS

I'm sure all of you have received sms-es informing you that you've just won a hefty sum of money from a competition. Funny thing is that you didnt even remember entering such a competition ! Nobody can get so lucky that money could actually dropped from the sky down to their lap !

Sadly there are still those naive ones who fell prey to this type of scam. Money is not easy these days that people came up with all sort of scams & frauds to get to our pockets. Like I've said before in my previous entry, throw a bit of skepticism when things seems too good to be true.

Somewhere last week, I've received this fraud sms informing me that I've won RM 17K cash from Coca Cola and I need to call this guy by the name of Mohd Nasir Ismail to claim the winning prize from him. Ok, first of all I've never entered any competition be it through sms or any other means of communications. And secondly, I dont even drink Coke & they must be crazy to give away that much of money to a person who is not even their customer !

(Congratulation ! Your sim card has just won
RM 17,000 from Coca Cola...... )

By the way, this is not the first time I ever received such an sms. Normally, after reading it I would immediately delete it. This time however, I'm not sure what has gotten into me that 've decided to write back to them. And this is how my reply looks like :

( Congratulation ! You sms has just being forwarded to the
Bukit Aman police for further investigation on fraud case )

Though I'm quite sure it wont stop these bastards from continue to hunt for their new victims, but at least it gives me some kind of satisfaction. Maybe I really should forward that sms to the police........hhmmmm. What say you ?

Welcome To The World

Last Friday, we welcomed the newest member in our family - Ahmad Amsyar, which means "most praised & energetic / active". It was indeed the most happiest moment for us all especially my brother & his wife.

With just a few hours of age, one cant really tell whose look he inherits. All I can say is that Amsyar is such a cute & adorable baby (which baby is not anyway! ). Looking at him sleeping makes the world around us so calm & peaceful. I could look at him all day long, because there is something so pure and perfect about babies. Maybe it is the clean start and new beginning that makes them so charming & wonderful. And that's how amazing babies are ! You just dont get bored looking at them.....let alone feeling bored or tired - provided that they havent start crying lar.....hahaha !

To Ahmad Amsyar, this poem is specially dedicated for you :

My newborn nephew
Born with eyes so bright
You fill this world
With such joy & delight
Your heart is gentle
Your smile is sweet
You bring endless joy
To those you meet

My newborn nephew
Born with eyes so bright
You are indeed
A marvelous sight
Your skin is soft
Your feature is small
But loved you are
By all

Tears of joy surely fell
From angel's eyes
The day you were sent to earth
They embraced you with bittersweet goodbyes
My newborn nephew
Born with eyes so bright
You fill this world
With such joy & delight

East Meets West - The Finale

She was thrilled & super excited. The phone call she just received earlier has put a lot of sparks in her eyes. She's been dreaming of this day for so long & it finally arrives. Her heart blooms with love & her face glows with happiness. I am such a lucky woman, she said to herself. Never before she thought that fairy tale could ever comes true. Her dreamed man is finally here & she just cant wait to see him.

It is gonna be a very special day for her & she has to look good for the occasion. What should I wear, she asked herself? Her mind then starts working right away. Should I wear the red tops or the floral turquoise shirt? Which colour brings out the best in me? Which handbag should I match it with? I should have asked what his favourite colour is, then it would be much easier - silly me !

How does he looks like in person ? Would he looks exactly like his pictures? Is his daughter gonna likes me too ? What if he's not like what he claimed to be? Would I still love him the same? What if I am not as what he expect me to be - would he still likes me when he sees me? Is he gonna stop from loving me?

Those are the questions that popped out one after another in her head the moment she received the call from Tom. She finally got to meet him after 2 months being virtually in love with that British lad who manage to capture her heart in his own very special way. He's just so perfect to her eyes. Tom is everything she ever wanted from a guy. Tall, handsome, smart, romantic & the most important thing is that, he's financially stable & he loves her very, very much.

In less than 3 days, they will be united. But before he could fly in to Kuala Lumpur, he needs to be in Abuja, Nigeria to clear some issues on his recent uncompleted job there. Back in KL, she waited for her love anxiously while dreaming about them being together. It's gonna be so beautiful, she thought to herself.

Just 2 days prior to his arrival date to KL, she received a call from Tom who is already in Nigeria at that time. Tom sounded so different this time & she could feel the tense coming from the tone of his voice. Apparently, his daughter is sick & need some medication from the hospital. She knew Annie had asthmatic problem since Tom did tell her about it before. But Annie's condition is not all that is worrying him.

The Nigerian company he's meeting up regarding his work has confiscate his passport since he didnt finished the job he's supposed to do back then. In order to get back his passport, he is required to pay a sum of RM 10K as a compensation. It's not that he didnt have that much of money but since his passport is not with him, he just cant withdraw his money from the bank. His only hope now is to get her to loan him the money of which he'll pay back when they meet up in KL later.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The above scenario is nothing new. It happened everywhere & as I'm writing this, one woman would have given her money to her so-called internet lover she didnt even meet yet. This year alone, within 6 months 83 Malaysian women have being conned by African men who posed themselves as a rich & handsome British men ( Source ).
The above story was written based on my own experience (except for the part where the lady was head over heels in love with the guy). Only thing, I was lucky not to foolishly fall prey to these Black scammers. It's just too bad for him that he got the wrong victim this time - somebody much smarter than him. I took the glory to give him a piece of my mind the moment he asked me for the money. I just wished he's right in front of me so that I could whack the shit out of him.
I told him that a person like him doesnt deserve a place in this world & I just hope that he'll die in the most humiliated way possible & eventually get burn in hell for good ! Telling him off like that was my sweetest revenge which leaves a broad smile on my face that lasts all night long. All the craps I've to put up with him for the past 2 months are finally being paid off.
I am not writing these series of East Meets West entries for fun or just for the sake of posting entries. My intention is to warn women out there especially those gullible ones. to be careful with these blacks. These people are professional scammers & they are really good in what they are doing. They'll do everything to win the woman's heart & trust - even to the extent of proposing to her.
Google "Internet love scam" & you'll find hundreds of stories similar to the above. It has becoming a global crime no matter which country you are from or how old are you. You can be as old as 70 but still a target to them as long you are willing to fork out money for them. Early this year, a 73 year old Malaysian woman has been swindled for RM 155K by these bastards ( Source ). So, please be very, very careful with guys you met via the internet. Be cautious, be skeptical & be alert - at all times.
I just hope this entry would be an eye-opener to all women out there who havent been in such a situation before or who are currently in a relationship with their virtual lover. Nothing is ever too good to be true - we can be lucky sometimes but when it gets too lucky, please spend some time to digest the whole situation. Education, good judgment and a healthy dose of skepticism are the best defenses against becoming a victim.
Remember, if it looks too good to be true, it probably is!
P/S : As I'm writing this, I have 3 messages in my FB inbox -again from British men who are seems to be very keen to get to know me better. Guys, just be careful what you wished for coz you'll be really sorry once you got to know me better !
Happy Friday
I've been terribly busy these few days that it slipped my mind that Friday is coming. And it's only this morning I realized that I didnt prepare anything yet for my Happy Friday thoughts. To make it worse, my parents are in town & with the tight schedule waiting ahead, time is just not enough.
In the midst of my mum's sharp glare and my dad's long sigh, I managed to grab the above quote to share with all of you readers. Hope it'll somehow inspired you in any way possible.
Last but not least, have a great weekend ahead & dont stop from being happy !
Pssstttt : Another series of East Meets West? Not again !
East Meets West - Part IV
Bastard Busted !
This is the best part of this whole East Meets West series & been yearning to write about it from the very beginning. But in order not to spoil the whole plot, I'd better not reveal too much information at this point of time. I'm saving the best for last. It should have some element of suspense to the story to make it even more dramatic & interesting, isnt it?
Anyway, after posting the 3rd part of this series, I've received a lot of feedback from friends - both positive and negative remarks. Few of them were congratulating me for my so-called "newly founded love" & some raised their concerned on my safety. Getting these mixed responses from them makes me feel really good coz it means that they really care about my well beings. To all of them, I thanked you so much for your attention & concern - you guys really makes me felt loved. May god bless you !
To those who were congratulating me, thank you so much but unfortunately nothing actually blooms out of my heart. This shattered heart of mine still remains as it is & pieces of it were still very much lying around. And to those who were concerned about my safety, I thanked them too for allowing a small part of their mind to worry about me. No worries dear friends for everything are tightly held in my palm. I'm very much aware of all the consequences to my actions & I'd be extra careful in handling whatever situations possible.
So which bastard is actually busted here? It wouldnt be that difficult to guess the culprit since there are only 2 main casts in this story - DD and me. Obviously I wont be calling myself by that name coz I AM certainly not that. Hence, the bastard here is no other than Mr. DD himself. Bravo !
Ok, here's the thing.......the moment he told me that he loves me (in less than 3 weeks), it has immediately raised my suspicion. And the more mushier he is, the more skeptical I've become. Too much of "I love you" and "I miss you" can really choked one up. Not only it suffocates me, it makes me wanna puke every time hearing him saying it to me. Gimme a break !
I then decided to run another check on him. Remember his bank account that he asked me to check just to convince me of his genuineness? What he did is to provide me with the link of the bank's website, which is this one : http://www.uk-bkonline.all.co.uk/Rbbs/
When I googled up the name of the bank in the search engine, I've gotten myself a different link to ( http://www.rbs.co.uk/ ) the Royal Bank of Scotland's official website. Aha ! If you go to both links & compare, you will see that both pages are exactly the same - but the moment you hit the "Log In" button, that's where the bastard got busted !
Obviously the link he gave me was a scammed website for that particular bank. So, basically he can write whatever amount he wanted in his account - be it GBP 100K, 500K or even 1 Million - no big deal ! These people are pro scammers & making money out of other people's blood & sweat are what they are trained for. They'll do everything they could just to trap their victim.
Knowing the fact that DD is a fraud gives me an idea to have some fun with him. I've decided to play along with him with the ball is completely in my court. If a game is what he's up to, then it's a game he'll be getting. I just wanna see how far he will go & what his motive would be.
The day I found out the truth about him was the same day I've made myself "fall in love" with him. If he can be romantic, I can be twice as romantic. If he can use mushy words, mine are even mushier he cant even handle. And if he can dedicate romantic love songs to me, I could even composed him a complete song, for crying out loud !
Lets start the game & let the player be played !
Psstttt : Kempunan kastad karamel........huhuhu.
Could This Heart Ever Heals?
It has been more than a month since DD appeared in my life. And it has been 2 weeks I've been hearing a guy whispering "I Love You" to my ears. Happy? Maybe. Flattered? Guess so! C'mon, which woman doesnt like to be praised & adored of? Being whispered the words of love to her ears every single day & night. Honestly, I enjoyed every moments of it.
But to fall for him? This is one thing I cant say yes just quite yet. All I can say is that I'm still far off from that direction. I have been in love a couple of times before & I am pretty sure how it felt. I didnt have all those butterflies jumping up & down in my belly every time I spoke to him. My heart didnt beat any faster than before. I dont have him occupying my mind all the time. And I didnt smile all day long for no reason. So, technically I am not in love !
If DD had come to my life 5 years ago, things might have been really different. I am quite sure by now I'll be walking on cloud nine & thinking of nothing else but him. I'll be easily swept away by his mushy words and instantly charmed by his romantic moves.
But that was then - before my heart has become as hard as a rock. No more neurons firing and endorphins flowing. I've kept my heart locked up tight for the past few years. With all these things happening to me makes me wonder if I am capable of falling in love again. From what I see, looks like I could never open up myself to any men anymore. I've been very, very protective of my scarred heart that giving it away seems to be close to impossible.
All those sufferings & pains I've gone through all these years has actually taken away every single faith I ever had in love. How much can a person's heart take - after being stomped for so many times? Just thinking of it makes me shudders in fear. I agree that being in love is the nicest feeling a person could ever experienced but it's good to be reminded that along with it comes the most unbearable pain nobody can ever imagine.
For me to be in love again would need more than an effort to make it happen. Much, much more than constantly saying those 3 magic words to me. It's more than dedicating romantic songs every now & then. And sending romantic text or emails with flowery words wont do as good that much either.
The thing is, most people are only good at breaking hearts, but only few of them are good at picking up the pieces.
Sweet revenge is spoken then;
In the twilight it is gone
To living lies with no escape,
God, I would rather be alone
East Meets West - Part III
Too Good To Be True.......
After for about 3 weeks of information transfer between 2 continents, love finally takes place. Yes, I did mentioned the word love but unfortunately it's not what you are thinking right now. If you think I'm the one who's falling in love here, then you are so wrong. It's not me who's falling in love here.....it was him, DD.
As ridiculous as it sounds, DD has indeed falling head over heels in love with me. And me being the overly skeptical person as I am, could just laugh at him. It may sounds mean, but it really tickles my funny bones when he actually said those 3 magic words to me within a very short period of time.
C'mon, he barely knows me. He knows nothing about my likes & my dislikes. He didnt know what my favourite colour is. What food I love the most. What kind of songs I like to listen. What type of movies I like to watch. And yet, this very person could actually tell me, not just any woman but this queen of skepticism, that he's falling for me. What more can I do but laughed.
My name is no longer being used by him in his conversation or sms / emails. It has now being replaced with darling, honey or sweetheart. "I love you" & "i miss you" acts like a full stop for each of his sentence. He'll send mushy emails & sms with the most flowery words a woman could ever imagined getting from a guy - like this particular ones for instance :
"Knowing you is a fate, becoming your friend is a choice..... but falling in love with you is something out of my control"
Sweet isnt it? Or like one of my fren said, scarily sweet ! Which heart wouldnt melt reading such a message? He dedicated love songs to me in his emails (of which me & my friends had a good laughs reading it). He'll played love songs to me (while singing to it at the same time) before I went to bed with an intention of putting me to sleep but end up with me giggling all the way on the other line. This guy had actually plan his future life with me, for crying out loud! And all he's getting is my sarcasm & skepticism.
So, DD obviously has a difficult task to convince me of his sincerity & so far, he's been working very, very hard towards that. He made me talked to his friends who've been telling me how much DD cared & loves me (of which I'm quite sure they are reading it from a script prepared by him). He also let me talked to his daughter just to show how serious he is. He even go to the extent of asking me to check his balance of account through his internet banking system by giving me his password & all - for real !
Honestly, with all those convincing & proving that has been going on for a week or so, part of me would really wanna believe him but putting my guards off would not be a wise thing to do. As much as I wanted to believe him, the inner part of me kept on resisting it. He's just too good to be true. Too perfect of a guy. And so surreal & unrealistic.
Anyway just how long can I keep on protecting this heart of mine? How long can I resist all those romantic words & mushy messages that has been continuously uttered to me night & day? And how long can these thick walls I've built around me all these years stands firm? Only time will tell.......
To be continued...............
Diva's Christmas Get-Together
My favourite time of the year is back and it just gets better and better each year. This year's Christmas party was held at my place with a theme called "Colour The Town Red". Thanks to Ain for volunteering to be the so-called party planner & came up with this great theme.
The hot hostess
In line with the theme, everybody (except Mei, since she didnt have any red tops it seems) were dressed up in red. The colour red can really lift up the party mood. Not only it makes us look great, it also create a lively ambiance around the house. My living room glowed with the presence of 5 radiant looking ladies (along with the hostess, of course) all dressed up in red.
The Divas
Unlike the previous years, we've decided to make it a potluck party this time. Everybody brought their own food for the party - ranging from salad / appetizer, main course & desert. The selection of foods that we have that day really makes it one great Christmas party - though we dont actually plan it that way.
My signature dish : the olios'
From Ain - so the very English !
From the rest
Looking at those foods makes me feel as though we were 6 expats staying abroad & were actually celebrating Christmas on Christmas day itself. There were spaghetti olio, roast chicken, cold cuts, salad, bread, cheese & deserts. The colours of the surroundings ( green walls & red attires ) makes it even more christmasy. Only thing missing is the Christmas tree......hehehe.
My fave pic.
We all had such a wonderful time that day. Too bad Lin cant make it at the very last minute. But she was kind enough to drop us our gifts & her delicious non-eggy caramel pudding. After stuffing our stomach with all the good foods, it's time for the most awaited event i.e. the exchange of gifts.
Another fave pic. of mine
Like the food, the gifts are as good as well. We all loveeeee the gifts so, so very much. Buying presents is one difficult task and it might end up with them not liking it. Anyway, I'm glad my frens love the stuff I bought for them. Seeing their happy faces when they open up their presents really makes my day.
The lovely gifts
This party was one of the best time I had this year. We had great food, great gifts, great laughs & great times together. May the joy continues to be with us for the years to come. Amin !
East Meets West - Part II
The Introduction
So, back to this British guy who has now becoming my cyber friend. I responded to his message & instantly, we've become friends in the virtual world. I'm just gone call him DD here. A 41 year old widower with an 8 year old daughter. Resides in Merseyside, Liverpool, UK and works as a Structural Engineer. Briefly, that's how he described himself as.
The means of communication between us started with emails flying from one mailbox to another. From emails, we exchanged YM id's & started chatting in YM. It then went up to the next level which is the phone calls & that's how the real (verbal) conversation started between the both of us.
So, these night calls from him coming all the way from England, has been happening every single night without fail, followed by Good Morning sms and emails. Sounds really fishy isn't it? I dont know what is he up to; bursting his pocket for the phone bills but since it doesnt affect me in any way (except for a few sleeping hours lost due to 8 hours of time difference), I've decided to go on with the flow.
Our conversation basically revolves around ourselves - work, interest, kids etc. He asked a lot of questions about Islam while telling me his intention of converting. We talked about past relationships and how it affected our current life. In short, it's like a 3 weeks of getting-to-know-each-other session for both of us. No romantic chats - just casuals.
DD seems a nice guy and have respects for woman (unlike certain men whose conversation are mainly focused on sex & intimacy) and I have to admit that I enjoyed talking to him. Every night I looked forward to receiving his phone calls though I sometimes struggled to capture what he's trying to say due to his heavy British accent.
Within that 3 weeks period, I keep on asking myself what is this guy's intention. If it's just a chat that he's up to, I'm sure he can do it more economically with his own kind back there in UK. And if a life partner he's looking for, arent there enough women in England that he has to travel thousands of miles to find one? But then, like I mentioned earlier, since there's no harm done on my side, watta heck ! I'm just gonna hop along with it & see where it'll take me to.
Anyway, my frens have been very supportive in giving me their opinions & views about this. They've been a very, very good friend of mine by repeatedly & continuously reminded me to be careful with this guy. God knows what he's up to & knowing the kind of people in today's world, he could just be another con man trying to trap his victim.
Well if that's what he is, then it's just too bad that he would gain nothing from all the money he invested on me. I'm not those normal fish he used to catch from the ocean. This fish has gone through a lot of fishing tackles & nets that she wont fall prey to any man that easily anymore, Insyallah.
To be continued........
Happy Friday
.
Happiness is something every people are always seeking for. Ironically, the harder we search for happiness the more it seems to elude us.
Being happy is our own choice. We can be happy right at this moment itself. Happiness is not something that we chase after endlessly. It's within ourselves.
We can choose to smile at someone and be happy. We can choose to look at the flowers, trees and listen to the birds' singing and be happy. We can choose to help a stranger in some way and be happy. Or we can simply lay back, relax and be happy. There are really countless ways to be happy.
Have a happy & wonderful weekend to all. Cant wait to have mine !
East Meets West - Part I
About a month ago, I was approached by this British gentleman through FB. By the way, it's not the first time guys approached me in FB - be it the locals or the whites. The only different with the westerners is that they are much more decent & gentleman as compared to the local guys, especially my own people.
Malay guys really have to learn a lot from the whites in terms of approaching a woman. When they are interested in the lady, what they did is just adding them as friends - no "salam", no introduction, no nothing. And they expect the lady to just say yes to their request. I dont know about others, but for me it's a complete no - no. C'mon, how can you expect somebody to accept you after you came barging in to their house without even knocking at their door first? Where's your common sense guys?
I'm not saying here that the whites are better off than my own people. I mean, guys are still guys no matter what race or skin colour they are. As long as they are guys, we ladies are prone to be hurt - emotionally or physically or even worse, both.
But at least, these westerners are far more better in terms of communication. They dont go and ask about your vital stats or the size of your boobs. They dont care asking when was the last time you had sex. They dont seems interested to ask whether you are open minded & starts talking dirty the moment you said yes ! They are much more civilized in that sense.
I'm really not sure what had gotten into our people that they've lost the good qualities being an Asian or Malays, specifically. Malays are best knows for their gentle mannerism & rich culture heritage. Dont know what happened that only the negative side of them remains.
Anyway, this is not the main issue that I'm gonna talk about in this entry. There are more to the story rather than the goodness of the whites & the flaws of the Malays.
To be continued...........
